A tour guide will pick you up at your hotel at 09:00am and take you to the island that holds some of the main sights in the whole of Faroe Islands. You will do an easy hike along the lake Sørvágsvatn to experience the Trælanípa optical illusion. This first experience of the day will take 3 hours or so. Next, you will head to the small village Bøur from where you will have a great view of the Drangarnir sea arch and the islet Tindhólmur. You will have time to go for a stroll in the village that has a lovely section of turf roofed houses.
Your last stop on the tour is the remote village Gásadalur. Your tour guide will show you the breathtaking waterfall Múlafossur, which is the number one scenery to witness in the Faroe Islands
Your tour guide will take you back to Tórshavn in the afternoon before it gets dark. You will be dropped off at your hotel.
In the evening, when it is dark and if it is cold and conditions right, look up in the night sky and you might be lucky and get to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights
Day 3
Streymoy, Eysturoy, Borðoy & Viðoy
Today is the day when you will be visiting some of the Faroe Island's most famous attractions, the villages Saksun and Tjørnuvík as well as other favourites. Get a good start on the day and wake up early, or enjoy a few more minutes of snooze and sleep in. Your tour guide will pick you up at 09:00am.
The first stop today is the isolated village Tjørnuvík in the northernmost part of Streymoy island. The solitary village lies in a hidden valley with no sunlight during winter.
You will continue your journey and make a stop at the Fossá waterfall. This is the tallest waterfall in the Faroe Islands.
Now, you will head to Eysturoy island where you will explore the picturesque village Gjógv, which is a true natural wonder. You will enjoy a mesmerising view of the gorge and the crystal clear water there.
Next, you will drive under the water to Borðoy island to see the second largest town, Klaksvík. This is the most important fishing town in the country and you will have a look at several vessels anchored along the bay.
The last stop on this day tour is Viðareiði on the island Viðoy. Here you will witness the beautiful mountains Villingadalsfjall and Malinsfjall.
You will now be taken back to Tórshavn and your hotel. Enjoy the countryside as you are approaching the capital. Spend your last evening in the Faroe Islands dining a one of the good restaurants in the city centre.
