We had a fantastic experience exploring the Faroe Islands with Elsa. She was an excellent guide — friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about her beautiful country.

We spent a day touring with her and saw so much more than we could ever have discovered on our own. From incredible landscapes and tiny villages to some of the hidden gems of the islands, everything was very well organised and relaxed. Elsa gave us plenty of time to enjoy the scenery, take photos and learn about life in the Faroe Islands.

What made the tours particularly special was how personal they felt. It never felt rushed or like a standard tourist tour. We felt as though we were exploring the islands with someone who genuinely wanted us to experience the very best of her home.

A wonderful experience and one of the highlights of our trip. We would highly recommend Elsa to anyone visiting the Faroe Islands.

thank you Elsa

This was a unique distillery experience. We enjoyed the philosophy of the distillers - to make high quality spirits from local ingredients. We fell in love with both the gin and the vodka. They were totally unique and delicious. We purchased one of each at the airport duty free before we left the islands.

My friend and I spent six days with Melissa, completing seven hikes together. She was knowledgeable, friendly and at ease with us. We had so many laughs and such amazing hikes- it’s a trip that I’ll never forget. Melissa is a pro and I’m so grateful for her guidance and enthusiasm for showing us so many beautiful locations on the Faroe Islands.

The hike was a great experience with fantastic views. The boat ride was also very fun and brought us very close to the arch. Furthermore, the crew were all very friendly and helpful.

What a great tour. Jens Petrus was amazing! So much history, culture, and funny stories. Clearly, he loves this place! The scenery was stunning - mountains, waterfalls, villages. Taking a small group tour is perfect. We got to explore three islands, travel through the undersea tunnels and roundabout, small villages, high mountains, and learned so much about life on the Faroe Islands. We had a delicious lunch made of local seafood and sourdough bread. I've taken many tours in many countries. This is definitely one I'd recommend!

I was on the "see it all " Faroe Islands tour that packs in the country's most iconic sights with an exceptional, knowledgeable guide Elza Maria in September. Booking the Faroe Islands Highlights Tour via Guide to Faroe Islands is an absolute must. Navigating the winding roads, the tunnels, and remote terrain on your own can be stressful, but this trip (about 9 hours) made exploring effortless and deeply enriching. Elza was simply outstanding—friendly and an absolute wealth of knowledge about local history and Faroese culture. We stopped for a delicious salmon lunch at a beautiful historical cafe. Cruising through the sub- sea tunnels and winding mountain roads while listening to captivating stories made the day fly by. If you want a stress-free journey into the heart of Faroe islands with a top-notch guide, look no further. Highly recommended!

Absolutely wonderful experience - fantastic enjoyable guide and charming driver. Worth the cost, as getting a private vehicle onto the island is iffy - ferry capacity is limited - and the public transit bus was clearly crowded. It was nice to not be at the mercy of the bus schedule, our tour was a nice relaxed pace. Our tour vehicle made its stops when the regular bus was somewhere else, so we weren't in the crowd. Also nice to have the ferry logistics handled for us.
We are in our early seventies and found the climb challenging - but made it all the way, and it was worth it. Our guide was very respectful with our pace, we were a bit slow going up, lots of pauses to catch our breath. The younger members of the group had no difficulty. The path is seeing lots of improvement with drainage and gravel surfacing so fairly easy to walk. A steady climb going up however. At the top, the view is spectacular, well worth the effort, but one has to be careful as the top is very narrow and high.
Only disappointment - a minor one - the ferry doesn't have much outdoor standing or window space for passengers, the view on the ferry ride was very limited. Didn't get many pictures on the ferry portion.
Glad we bought the tour, learned a lot from our guide, a great day trip.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour! Jens Petur is an incredibly experienced and knowledgeable guide. His deep understanding of Faroese history is truly impressive. Even though the weather wasn't on our side, listening to his fascinating stories made the experience completely worthwhile. Highly recommended!

From the car rental, to the hotel check-in, to the sea arch boat tour, everything went as smoothly as possible.
I added a few days outside of the capital myself, and even working that in the middle of the schedule with Høgni was a piece of cake!
Flexible, quick to reply, helpful, simple... The team made this trip absolutely stress-free, which left me able to enjoy the amazing scenery of the country!

I would include this as a must-do in the Faroe Island, even though our travel schedule put us outside prime birding season. There is just no other way to see this iconic scenery, and it shouldn't be missed.

The weather looked iffy, but they put us at ease with good, timely communication about what might happen if the seas were too rough. We were able to complete they planned tour, and we always felt safe because of their caution.

Every person we were in contact with was friendly and gracious. The captain took time to chat with us, and we didn't feel like we were imposing at all. The person who processed our ticket and served us some coffee was especially delightful.

Truly a highlight of our visit.

to me

In August 2026, my husband and I took the “Elsa” Bus Tour of the Faroe Islands. Elsa made the experience truly memorable. She made everyone in the group feel comfortable, welcome and connected throughout the tour. Her explanations of the Island’s history were informative and engaging. We learned so much about the culture and way of life in the Faroe Islands.

I enjoyed her style, professionalism and genuine care for everyone on the tour.

Thank you Elsa for helping us create wonderful memories. The Faroe Islands are majestic and your guidance made the experience even more special. Take care.

Simply wow scenery. Fantastic tour (on a sunny day) with an excellent guide (Jasper, from DK but passionate and well versed about his adoptive country FO). Discrete, thoughtful for diversity of the team members, well organized, timely.
Local minibus taking you on an almost private tour, patient and colourful local driver (Magnus).
Very practical as including all costs and a great alternative to having to get a car place on the ferry (very hard to find if you want last minute time flexibility in function of the weather conditions ), to drive on small roads and to park. Also, excellent service and responsiveness from company. Will go again !

Our guide, Elsa, was energetic, highly dependable, and absolutely wonderful.
I joined this tour alone, and there were seven of us in total.
Since I was traveling solo and not confident in my driving, I didn't rent a car, so it was super convenient to cover the highlights of the Faroe Islands all at once. The lunch at the cafe we stopped at was also delicious, making it a wonderful memory.
