Wonderful tour. Debated between tour and doing on our own and so glad we chose the tour. There was so much background info we would have missed on our own. Guide was great, very encouraging and generous with his knowledge.

I had a simply amazing tour with Heðin Poulsen on July 2nd. We booked through GuideToFaroeIslands, so getting paired with Heðin was pure luck, but you can absolutely request him.

We chose the “Inspiring 6 Hour Lake Above the Ocean Tour” for our cruise stop in Tórshavn. Because of a previous injury, my wife skipped the hike to Trælanípa and took a big‑bus cruise tour instead. When I met Heðin at the ship, I learned I would be the only person on the tour. What a treat that turned out to be.

From the moment we started driving, Heðin made me feel like an old friend visiting for the day. We talked about life in the Faroe Islands as he took me not only to the scheduled stops but to several bonus ones as well. After passing through the undersea tunnel to Vágar, we headed to the Trælanípa trailhead. The hike was gorgeous and a bit steeper than I expected, but Heðin was patient, encouraging, and never in a hurry. He shared stories from his childhood in the area, which made the experience even more special.

The views of Lake Sørvágsvatn and the “Lake Above the Ocean” illusion were unforgettable. We continued down to see Bøssdalafossur waterfall and the dramatic Geituskorardrangur rock formation. If I had wanted to go farther, Heðin would have happily taken me.

After a quick lunch, we toured several small villages, including Heðin’s hometown, before heading to Gásadalur and the iconic Múlafossur Waterfall. As we started back toward Streymoy, my wife texted to say she was absolutely miserable on her big‑bus tour. By chance, our routes crossed just after the tunnel, and Heðin immediately offered to rescue her. She was thrilled to join us, and he even retraced some of our steps so she could see the highlights, along with a bonus stop at a black sand beach. It was an incredibly kind gesture.

If you get the chance to visit the Faroe Islands, even briefly, take it. The landscapes are stunning, and the people are genuinely warm. And if you want a truly unforgettable experience, reach out to Heðin at Far Tours. He will make your visit extraordinary.

This is an incredible experience. The hike is challenging due to the elevation change, but the paths are nice and clear. The views, the town, the puffins, all fantastic. Eli was an amazing guide. Be sure to walk to the lookout (across the river in town, through the sheep pasture) and enjoy some peaceful time on the bench there.

Great tour. I had a fantastic guide, Jens Peter, with great knowledges, very professional and we had a wonderful weather to explore the main highlights of the island. Professional organised and well done by the organisers. The tour lasted more than expected and all the spots visited were great, including the lunch break. Jens Peter is always open to questions and he likes to share his experience as local, in many diverse topics.
Very nice group and smooth drive all the way around.
Fully recommended in case you come to Faroe, as you get to see a lot in a day.
Thanks.

We had an amazing tour with Sigurð! The landscape and the evening light are stunning. Seeing the birds (we saw eider ducks with chicks, artic terns, and even a puffin) from the kajak is also quite a different perspective. Additionally, Sigurð has a lot of intersting stories about the nature and faroe islands to share.
The tour had to be postponed to another day due to heavy winds, but is was totally worth. Sigurð is very experienced when it comes to the weather conditions and has also a very good feeling for his guests and how much they can paddle.

That was a lot of fun.
The rib boat is very powerful and lots of fun to ride.
We also got flotation suits which luckily kept us warm during the trip.

We saw lots of birds, including puffins and other local birds and the caves were cool to go into.

A visit you won't regret. Our guide Rani started with some stories about the foundation of the distillery from the beginning until today, some historical facts about alcohol on the islands and a closer look on the local botanicals that are used. After the tasting of their delicate spirits we got the opportunity to try the new make whisky, which is very promising for what's to come after maturation. Take the road to Vestmanna and don't miss this great piece of faroese craftsmanship.

From the beginning till the end it was a breathtaking experience! Out guide Melisa told us a lot about the islands, and many interesting stories along the way. There are no words to describe what we saw, it can only be experienced on your own but one thing is for sure- you'll be in Heaven itself. So go ahead and visit the Faroe Isles!

Wonderful trip. Anita was a fantastic tour guide. We scheduled rather last minute and was grateful they were able to accommodate us on the trip. It was very fun to meet the other people on the tour and was well worth the money

If you only have a short amount of time in Faroe Islands and you need a comprehensive tour, then take this tour. The seven hour tour lives up to the name of the tour “see it all”. Elsa Marie was born on the Islands and seems to know nearly everybody and has the contacts to make your day memorable. She supplies coffee and surprise snacks, there is a short lunch stop and there is plenty of opportunity to stop for pictures. Elsa Marie passes on historical, geological and business perspectives and has a deep love for the preservation of wildlife and native animals. Don’t miss this engaging, extensive, wonderful seven hour tour.

Vígdis was an excellent driver and tour guide. She was helpful and kind and she took the hike at an excellent pace for us to enjoy. Besides the views near the lighthouse and all along the hike, the highlight was a visit to Maud’s kiosk in Trøllanes, I had a sample of some of the best cheese I’ve ever had and we a lovely snack on a picnic table by the ocean. Gorgeous day!
