Fantastic experience. Our favourite activity of everything we did in our week in the Faroes. Quirky and beautiful. Not to be missed !

During the tour, we had amazing weather and saw so many beautiful views! Our guides, Anita and Flosi, were both so nice and friendly. They made the trip so much fun, and I also learned more about Faroese life, culture, and their way of thinking through our conversations.

I really loved the hiking trails too. They weren’t too difficult for me, but the views were absolutely incredible. Just be prepared for the weather to change constantly - go with the flow and enjoy it!

Annita is such a great guide and lovely person. I enjoyed hearing both the history of the Islands and well as her personal, fascinating story. While the weather could have been better, the fun of the tour far more outweighed it and it was a fun day. The hike is just a little challenging but quite doable and the view from the lighthouse certainly is spectacular. The Islands are just beautiful and I enjoyed looking around, breathing the very clean air and observing the peace of the landscape. And the sheep. Lots of sheep. Plus - "James Bond's Grave". Kind of cool. All in all, the perfect way for me to have spent my first day in the Faroe Islands.

Elsa Maria is a Faroe Island treasure! What a fun guide and nice person. She gave such a great tour, we went all over many islands and she had lovely stories for each place. She is one of those people who just radiates kindness and good humor. Her warmth far eclipsed the cold weather (which this Southern California guy was not prepared for). I enjoyed learning about the Faroe Islands from her and felt like I made a new friend. Plus, she introduced me to some wonderful candies that I was able to find later in my trip (candy coated, chocolate covered black licorice!). I would definitely take another Elsa Maria tour again should I return and will recommend her to any of my friends who plan to visit Faroe. Thanks for the great day

I had such a great day with Jens. He's not only an excellent guide, but he's very smart and incredibly hospitable. He was great with communicating- before the adventure, he let me know exactly where and when we would meet, what to wear, etc. He was at the meeting place early (just like I was), so we were able to catch and earlier bus to our trek site. The pace was perfect and we spoke the entire way - he answered all of my (many) questions and provided a personal insight to the Faroe Islands. He also took great photos. While I had been concerned that the rain and cold (for a Southern California guy) would hinder the trek, the weather was no concern. I enjoyed the trek immensely, ignoring the weather as I was having such a great time. I would definitely trek with Jens again should I return, and will suggest to my trekking friends that the visit Faroe and sign up for a trek with him

Just stunning! The Faroe Islands are absolutely amazing, I would go again tomorrow. The landscapes, the hikes, the quietness, the history - exactly my wish for holidays and learning about new places. With a hectic job, it was so easy to book through Guide to Faroe Islands; a few simple email exchanges, everything was arranged and went very smooth upon arrival. It is great to have the suggestions for the week tour with the highlights but I also adjusted to the pace and interests of my 10 year old (who actually liked the hiking much more then I expected and was definitely also impressed by the fantastic views and ofcourse Drangarnir!) And we saw puffins again! We are big fans, and have made another puffin trip. But even with adjusting the trip a bit we saw everything that was advised in the itinerary and even a bit more (eg. the National Museum, the National Art Gallery, some other villages). There is enough time build in to adjust. Thanks a lot for organizing. I suspect we will back. It was magic!

One of the best experiences of my life. This tour is more intimate than a larger tour would have been. Our guide, a generational Faroese with roots on Mykines, didn’t just lead us to the colony, but personalized the entire tour with storied histories about the island and its inhabitants—all with a calm and gentle energy. I learned so much about the island, the village, and the beautiful puffins and other seabird inhabitants of Mykines. On the boat ride to and from the island we literally went through the Drangarnir Sea Arch, saw some seals, and rode close enough to one of the waterfalls to feel the sea spray on our faces. Amazing!

*Bonus: If you go to the cafe, be sure to try the fish soup and one of the little cakes.

This is a must-do tour! I loved every minute and would not change a thing. I was so grateful to get such a comprehensive overview of the Faroe Islands. We saw several islands, countless incredible landscapes, and gained an understanding of what life is like. We visited a mixture of highly scenic and cultural locations. Each view was more phenomenal than the last. There was exceptional communication and organisation from Hogni, who arranged everything and also was flexible with certain arrangements to suit my itinerary. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Our guide, Johan, and also his family who assisted on some days were phenomenal. They were all friendly, kind, and terrific conversationalists. They answered all our questions about the Faroe Islands and gave us a lot of incredible information about the Faroese people, culture, music, history, current affairs, the fishing industry, and also life on the islands. They also gave us a lot of recommendations for foods to try, things to do, and places to go. Pick ups were always on time, and there was great communication. The tours were well planned by Johan - the locations selected and time allowed at each stop were spot on and we never felt rushed. He had cultivated a lot of close relationships with locals, who gave us food and access to experiences as a result. There was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere created by Johan, which made the group cohesive and harmonious. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

Stunning views and a very fun hike! Interesting history associated with this walk, which made the experience all the more rich. Melissa was an exceptional guide. She was kind, passionate, and gave me lots of information about the hike and insider knowledge about the Faroe Islands. I had a fantastic day with Melissa. I was grateful for the delicious packed lunch included too. The communication and organisation from Guide to Faroe Islands and Melissa was terrific and made for a relaxed and fun experience all round!

Excellent experience. Despite the shorter duration, there are many scenic views including waterfalls, Drangarnir, and puffins, if you are there during the proper season. You can look in any direction during the boat ride and witness the natural beauty of the Faroe Islands.

This was one of our favorite experiences in the Faroe Islands. Jens and Rigmor are welcoming hosts and invite you into their home and treat you like long-time friends. We were able to taste a variety of traditional Faroese dishes and everything was delicious. Rigmor's homemade fish soup was an excellent entry into the cuisine and one of my favorites of the evening. Conversation during dinner included bits of Faroese tradition and history surrounding the food, but also branched in multiple other directions.

My advice: Book this experience now. Arrive hungry. Don't make any time sensitive plans after the meal as the conversation may linger long after dessert. You won't regret it.
