This tour was a great experience. Randi is a brilliant story teller and gave a lot of background information so it didn’t matter too much that the visibility was not great. Extra points for the opportunity to interact with one of the locals, Olga the sheep!

Wunderschöner Ausflug auf die Insel Mykines – absolut empfehlenswert

Der Ausflug auf die Insel Mykines war ein wunderschönes Erlebnis und ist absolut empfehlenswert. Besonders schön war, dass die Tour in einer kleinen Gruppe stattfindet. Wenn man die erste Tour des Tages bucht, sind noch nicht so viele Touristen unterwegs, wodurch man die beeindruckende Natur und die besondere Atmosphäre der Insel noch intensiver geniessen kann.

Unser Guide Eli war grossartig. Man merkt sofort, wie viel Erfahrung er mit der Insel hat und dass seine Familie von Mykines stammt. Mit viel Wissen und Leidenschaft hat er uns die Geschichte, die Natur und die Besonderheiten der Insel nähergebracht.

Ein absolutes Highlight war, die Puffins aus nächster Nähe beobachten zu können – ein unvergesslicher Moment! Die Nähe zu den Tieren und die atemberaubende Landschaft haben diesen Ausflug zu einem ganz besonderen Erlebnis gemacht.

This was a fantastic way of covering quite a lot of the Faroer Islands and exploring the fascinating landscape by minibus and on foot. Johan and his family were amazing guides and in addition to seeing the landscape I learned so much about Faroese culture and ways of thinking - even got a chance of tasting the local "delicacies"! In particular, I would like to praise the flexibility to deal with "force majeures" such as the weather, one of our trips was cancelled, but Johan came up with a brilliant alternative and also the other trips were clearly planned very well to "work" given the conditions.

I wanted to visit the Faroe Islands for several years now, and this year I finally made it happen -- and I am so glad I chose Guide to Faroe Islands and this hiking package. Everything was organised seamlessly, the communication with Hogni was swift and he answered any question I had; I truly didn't have to worry about anything and could just appreciate the incredible landscape. My guide Hugin was great fun, very knowledgable and tailored all the hikes to the weather. The hikes themselves always included interesting landmarks and amazing views. The nature is just indescribable, unlike any other place I ever hiked. I especially loved the hike at Gjogv and the Postman's Trail, but all of them were fantastic. When SAS left my suitcase in Copenhagen, Hugin adjusted the schedule so I didn't miss out on anything and helped me deal with the whole situation at the airport. Hotel Hafnia was also great, perfectly located in the very city center so everything is nearby, and the staff is very helpful and nice. Faroes will forever have a piece of my heart (as will the Mikkeller bar). Thanks for making this such an amazing experience.

I recently did the Faroe Islands in 7 hours See it All Tour with Elsa Maria, and can't recommend it highly enough, especially if you have limited time to see this beautiful country. The scenery was amazing, with stunning views around every corner, and pretty little villages, birdlife, and beautiful vistas. We also enjoyed a delicious seafood lunch at a local restaurant. Being a local, Elsa Maria filled us in on what life is like in such an isolated region, and how adaptable the Faroese are, when the weather and circumstances are difficult. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this day tour, especially if you have limited time to see this amazing part of the world.

We loved this boat tour and our only regret is not also booking a tour at Vestmanna. We will be back!

One of the best excursions we've ever taken on a cruise and what a great value too! Johann picked us up promptly at 9 and spent the next 8.5 hours showing us as much as he could of his beautiful country. Although the tour was billed as 7 hours, we were in Port until 10 pm, and so he made sure we didn't miss a thing, even stopping at a pharmacy for one couple who needed some medication. The van was intimate and comfortable, the provided lunch was tasty and convenient, and the insights we gained were invaluable. The Faroe Islands are a magical place and we were so fortunate to have booked this excursion. I believe Johann runs the operation but all the guides are family members and he ensures everyone will enjoy their day!

We booked this 7-day self-drive package, and it turned out to be the best experience ever! We had wanted to visit the Faroe Islands for many years, and the travel schedule that Hogni provided for us was amazing!

We had a detailed day plan starting early in the morning and ending in the afternoon. We were able to visit seven islands, many villages and settlements, and we had the opportunity to hike to some breathtaking places! Our trip wasn't too tightly scheduled, and since we started our days earlier than suggested, we had the opportunity to add some extra hiking routes and visit a few more villages. It was also easy to adjust the itinerary!

The booking process was easy, and we received all the information about the hotel, the car, and the day-to-day plan by email a few days after booking. The website also has plenty of information about all the places we visited, which was really helpful when deciding whether we wanted to spend more time somewhere and adjust the day's plan accordingly.

This tour was amazing! I was astounded by all of the gorgeous locations in the Faroe Islands and this tour was far more comprehensive than anything the cruise lines offered. The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and we were beyond impressed. I highly recommend this tour!

Great trip! I highly recommend it—the experience was amazing. Everything was exactly as described in the tour description. The captain shares interesting stories along the way, and there are short stops for photos and the chance to enjoy the breathtaking views.

The tour was very interesting. Catherine is an excellent tour guide and knows a lot about birds and the history of the island. She opened up her house for us, served us cake and cookies and a delicious fish soup.

Nous portions nos vareuses, bonnets, lunettes de soleil polarisantes et une paire de gants techniques. Sacs à dos étanches pour nos vestes, écharpes une fois débarqués et pique nique. Indispensable pour ne pas prendre froid.

Everything on this tour was a really good experience - from the simplicity of ferry ride over, the bus ride to Mikladalur and Kópankonan ❤️, to Trøllanes. The guide/farmer who still lives there gave a wonderful context for understanding the landscape and the cultural/identity of community life. And this was all before the walk to the lighthouse and views across the other islands. Brilliant day.

Highly recommend this extensive tour of the Faroe Islands. Jens Peter was affable and extremely knowledgeable and took us to see the best sites around the Islands, followed by a delicious lunch at the famous Fiskastykkið restaurant. A must for anyone who wants to see multiple facets of this fascinating and beautiful country in a short amount of time.
