Although seeing everything is impossible no matter the country, we managed to explore Faroe Islands in a way that I completely did not expect. I booked this trip for Saksun only yet she brought us to most spectacular viewpoint of my entire six days stay, allowed us to behold unique cloud formations, kept us entertained with her energeting demeanor and engaging storytelling. Good driving, approachibility - I could ask any questions, socialize among others. Then she brought us to the restaurant which price-wise was not as insane as restaurants in Thorshavn - moreover it was spacious, amazing soup, salmon and dessert. Meeting the owner was also cool.

I had an amazing experience on my tour of the Faroe Islands, and a big part of that was thanks to our guide, Jens Peturs.
He was perfectly punctual at pickup and incredibly kind and engaging throughout the entire 8-hour tour. His explanations were informative yet never overwhelming—quite the opposite, actually. He shared so many interesting details that kept the tour dynamic and enjoyable from start to finish.
It was clear how much he loves his country, and his deep knowledge of the islands really enriched the experience. We were also a very small group (just three guests), which made everything feel more personal and allowed for great interaction and conversation with Jens.
I’m truly grateful to him for such a beautiful and memorable experience exploring the Faroe Islands. I couldn’t recommend him more highly!

We had a lovely day exploring the Faroe Islands! Elsa was a great guide, very friendly and knowledgeable of the Islands and their history. The trip takes in many miles but there were frequent stops where we could get out, stretch our legs and admire the scenery. We also stopped at a really nice restaurant for lunch which was in a lovely spot. Following the trip Elsa sent out a video of the route with photos from the day which was very interesting and a great souvenir of the trip.

Do it if you have the chance.

As always with the weather in the Faroes (the one you can see and feel, and how the sea works) you have to adapt and take what you can. Luckily enough, Faroe is a country where everywhere is worth visiting. We were lucky enough to see all those cliffs full of life with the nesting birds (lots of guillemot, fulmars and many others), the sheep and lambs choosing patches of grass in impossible locations.

I expected more. I saw the same hills: actually the same as from my car, difference just to see them from water. It was 2 short 3 minutes stops near cliffs. I was sitting outside the boat, captain’s microphone was so poor, that i could not understand any word what he wanted to say during his 30 seconds explanation . I may suggest: avoid this attraction and spend time visiting by car other locations

I appreciate the efforts the hosts Jens and Rigmor spent preparing an authentic Faroese dinner with a variety of plates: seafood soup, whale meat, breaded cods, fish balls, deserts, potatoes. All are of local produce. They are knowledgeable and told us numerous information about Faroe Island, which I found interesting e.g the rare genetic diseases quite unique in the Faroe Islands and the path of students in Faroe Island pursuing their college in Faroe Island or Denmark. They deserve a great applause.

We enjoyed the time spent with Selma and Tordur. Food is delicious. They told us their own story so that we understand how life is in Faroe Island. I was deeply impressed by their upkeeping the tradition of Faroe Island, which was continued for generations e.g. wearing traditional costumes at national days, Selma and her daughters continue to do knitting. They have strong family ties and most people are still attending church. My warmest thanks.

What a fantastic experience!

The guides were excellent; they provided plenty of information—not too much, not too little, but just right—and pointed out things we hadn't noticed yet.

There was no rush; we had all the time to take in the beautiful scenery.

The music the skippers played occasionally enhanced the experience.

Afterwards, we felt like we were 'hypnotized' 😀; it took a while for us to come back down to earth.

We definitely recommend this trip. Seeing an island from the water provides a completely different experience.

This 8 days self guided tour was perfect for us. We were able to tour the islands at our own pace. Thanks to Hogni, he met us in the hotel on our first day and indicated our recommended itinerary with a map guide. We followed this itinerary and we really enjoyed every minute of our tour. In addition, the weather cooperated, we brought the sun with us on this whole trip. Saw a lot of puffins in Mykines island, waterfalls everywhere, experienced undersea tunnels with turnabouts, each towns we visited have different charms we loved etc. I didn't have to stress on planning this trip as I do in our other trips because everything was booked by Hogni. Faroe Island is beautiful and it should be in everybody's bucket list to visit. And the Spa house was incredible also, stayed in the hot pools and saunas for hours overlooking Torshavn city. Too bad, I wasn't able to take pictures inside. Hogni booked it at the end of our tour which we really needed after all the hikes we did. I recommend this tour to everyone.

I had the greatest pleasure of being on a tour with Elsa Maria in the Faroe Islands — The Full Day 'See It All' Faroe Islands Tour, offered through Guide of Faroe Islands.

Elsa Maria was engaging and had a great sense of humour, but her greatest quality was how well-informed she is about her country. I was so immersed in her stories. She was also very frank — she mentioned all the good, but also some parts and practices of her country that other guides might have glossed over or omitted entirely.

She also came across as genuinely kindhearted. She would help strangers along our route, help distressed animals, and visibly cringe when tourists stepped into grassy meadows — yet say nothing so as not to cause hard feelings. She was genuinely proud of the islands and everything they have achieved with such a small population.

When you're tasked with explaining and representing your country, it has to come from a real place — and with her, it did. I appreciated her outright affection for her country even more after moving on to Iceland, where my next tour guide spent most of the time talking about himself and even insulted a country by saying it was the same as its neighbour. Every country has its own identity!

Her approach to guiding is rare. I wish her all the best ❤️

Thank you Elsa Marie for an amazing tour. Everything was perfect and I had a great time. When I arrived to my hotel I tried to book another one, Sandoy island but unfortunately it was fullbooked. Next time.😀

10/10 for the Fantastic 5 hour Kalsoy Island and Kallur Lighthouse tour. Information was forwarded as arranged and it was easy to meet up with our guide. Everything was seamless and at a comfortable pace and we managed to get see all of the sights without feeling rushed or crowded. Our guide Helja really brought the tour to life with local knowledge and insights (with family continuing to live on the island) Helja knew how to pace the tour, answering questions and sharing information. We were blessed with wonderful weather and this was a definite highlight of our visit to Faroe Islands. Whilst it is possible to do this as self directed, Guide to Faroe Islands tour company took all of the worry (aka making it back to the ferry, driving through one lane tunnels) out of the experience.
Ps Helja, if you ever want to visit us in Tasmania just inbox us,

It was an amazing experience, totally worth the price. We could see many beautiful clifs, sea birds and grasing sheeps on the shore. The guide didn't speak much, but you actually don't need much explanation. The nature is stunning!
There is a cabin on the boat to hide from the rain.
Be cautious, if you easily get sea sick, because even during calm days the waves can be big.
