Fantastic experience!!!! Unbelieveble place!

I have been on many tours and excursions over the years, but I can say without hesitation that our day with Elsa Maria was one of the most beautiful and memorable travel experiences I have had in decades.

This is not a standard tour. There is no sense of being driven from sight to sight while someone points out landmarks and recites facts they have repeated a thousand times. From the moment Elsa Maria picked us up at our Airbnb—with a twinkle in her eye—we knew we were in for something entirely different.

Elsa Maria was born and raised on the Faroe Islands, and she knows these islands not simply as a guide, but as someone whose own life and family history are woven into them. As we drove, she told us stories about Faroese culture and rituals, the ocean, the sheep, the villages, and the people who have made their lives in this extraordinary landscape. But what made the day so special were the personal stories.

She showed us where she was born. Where her mother was born. She pointed out roads and buildings connected to generations of her family. She told us about the Sunday drives her family would take to visit the oldest person on the island, and how her mother would always ask them to stop the car so she could walk the rest of the way simply to take in the magnificent view of the ocean that we were taking in at the same time.

Those are the things I will remember.

Through Elsa Maria, the Faroe Islands stopped being a collection of spectacular landscapes and became a living place—full of memory, family, humor, ritual, weather, history, and love.

She also arranged an intimate lunch for our group at a little café overlooking the ocean, and I am not exaggerating when I say it was one of the best meals I have had anywhere in Scandinavia. Handmade sourdough rolls, whipped butter, tender greens—everything was simple, beautiful, and absolutely extraordinary.

And then, somehow, the day became even more generous. Four of us needed to get back in time for another arrangement, so Elsa Maria organized for her husband to pick us up and drive us all the way home. When we arrived and tried to pay him, he simply would not accept it, saying instead, "We hope you enjoy your time here at our home."

That small moment captured the entire day.

Elsa Maria gave us far more than a tour. She welcomed us into her Faroe Islands. She shared her home, her history, her memories, and her extraordinary knowledge with a warmth and generosity that cannot be scripted or taught.

If you have the opportunity to spend a day with Elsa Maria, take it. You may arrive expecting to see the Faroe Islands. You will leave feeling that you have seen more than a place. You have experienced a beautiful, delicate, warm and cherished culture.

What an amazing introduction this was to Klaksvik and the Faroe Islands. Beinta our guide was so lovely and gave us such an incredible tour (in very challenging weather conditions!) We enjoyed the tour immensely, learnt a lot about the wonderful Faroe Islands, its' people and culture from a local; and it was such a perfect start to our time in Klaksvik. Thankyou Beinta :-)

I had a wonderful experience with the 5-Day vacation package to the Faroe Islands. The booking process was straightforward, and the package offered a convenient combination of accommodation, transportation, and activities. The Hilton Garden Inn was clean and comfortable, also within 20 minutes walking distance of the town center.

What impressed me the most was the native tour guide Anita and her vast knowledge of the Faroe Islands. She’s not only an exceptional educational farmer but also an amazing tour guide for travelers to the islands. Anita’s genuine ability of immersing the group in the island’s history, culture, cuisine, and sharing hidden stories of her homeland made the experience unforgettable. The only negative aspect of this trip was that Anita has me addicted to Dumle. The staff was friendly, helpful, and considerate throughout my visit.

Overall, this vacation package provided excellent value and made my trip enjoyable and stress free, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a well-planned and memorable getaway.

The Faroe Islands is an astounding place to visit. The Lake Sørvágsvatn hike is one of the best hikes in the world, for sure... do not miss it. The fee to do the hike is high - but just pay it and don't get mad. For us, it was muddy and near the end quite challenging. But I was struggling with a foot problem and was still able to do it.

This is a self-drive tour, so you are responsible to set your itinerary. Just driving around to the different villages is completely entertaining. The tunnels are an experience not to be missed. Remember that the weather is changeable. We went in late September and knew we could have bad weather. We added an extra day to accommodate for this. We had one day of astoundingly great weather - when we did the Lake Sørvágsvatn hike. Our flight in was diverted to Copenhagen so we lost a half day there, and one other day rained solidly for most of the day. But we still did everything except the boat tour. Even with this weather, the islands are wonderful.

Restaurants are extremely expensive. They may have limited hours or require reservations. This dissuaded us from eating out - which works for us. There are essentially no tourist shops anywhere. You might find a T-shirt, magnet, or postcard. The primary shopping is yarn, sewing equipment, and wool sweaters/attire.

Hogni is extremely responsive and will respond to you at any time... for example, when we were diverted to Copenhagen late in the evening and had to make him aware that we would be a day late. He arranged everything for us so all we had to focus on was what we wanted to see. If you don't want to do the research for a car, boat tour, or hotel yourself - trust him. He knows.

This is a bucket list destination - do it before it becomes over-touristed. At the moment most villages have a clean, well-stocked, WC with a flush toilet and sometimes they are even heated. Too many disrespectful tourists will change that.

Guiden havde god forståelse for gruppen og gav sig god tid på de forskellige lokationer.

Wunderschön, auch wenn wir nicht die eigentliche Tour fahren konnten. Wir wurden vorab über das raue Meer, die Gefahren des Atlantiks informiert und dass die Fahrt statt dessen in südlicher Richtung zwischen den Inseln stattfinden sollte. Und was war das für eine schöne Zeit, die sich neu ergebenden Eindrücke der Landschaft und Klippen, die man sonst nur vom Land aus sehen kann. Beeindruckend, faszinierend, unglaublich schön!

Tour muy eficiente y auténtico que cubre mucho en poco tiempo, pero sin sentirte agobiado. La guía es local de Feroe, ella comparte historias reales de los pueblos visitados y hace que el tour se sienta + cercano, también hizo algunas paradas improvisadas para ver animales junto a los caminos, esa parte ha sido de mis favoritas. Recomendado si te gusta aprovechar el tiempo y además conocer la cultura local.

Superb tour where we saw most of Faroe, with breathtaking landscape. Johan has been able to let us discover his country, the poeple, the villages and the nature beauties, all this in a very eenjoyable and confortable way despite the rain and cold wind of September.

I recently completed the three-day tour package, and it exceeded every expectation. Keeping the group small—just four of us, in our case—made the entire experience feel personal, flexible, and unhurried.

Our guide, Anita, was exceptional. Having grown up on the islands, she offered far more than typical sightseeing commentary. Alongside the iconic landscapes, she shared genuine, vivid insights into what daily life in the Faroes is actually like, grounding the dramatic scenery in local culture and history.

When our scheduled day trip to Suðuroy was disrupted by an out-of-commission ferry, the team handled it seamlessly. While I was initially disappointed, Anita quickly pivoted to an alternative itinerary that unexpectedly became one of the absolute highlights of the entire trip. Her local knowledge and adaptability turned a potential setback into an unforgettable day.

Me and my friend joined the trip "see it all" on 23th Aug. In the beginning, I did not expect a one-day-tour could make the trip in Faroe Islands more fabulous. However, I ater found out that we visited most of the classic checkpoints on the main islands. Our tour guide Elsa introduced a lot about Faroe Islands, its culture, its people and its social life, which really broadened my knowledge. We received a short video of the trip later and it made me feel warm, as the memory on that day will always remain exclusive.

My friend and I had an amazing time fishing. She doesn’t fish and the captain was very helpful showing her what to do. We caught 5 cod!

This is the second day tour i booked and enjoyed it very much. The weather was great and our guide Melissa and her dog Minnie makes the trip even better. All the places we visited were really amazing including the lunch spot with a view. Thanks for making my trip to the faroes memorable!

Due to the unpredictable weather in the Faroe Islands, the tour was rescheduled twice. The guide, Tummas, was incredibly professional and patient. The wait was entirely worth it, the 4-hour hike and the sunset views were absolutely sensational and exceeded all expectations! Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting.

Very nice trip - we enjoyed it a lot.
It should be noted that due to stormy sea conditions, the trip was not going to the north but rather going to the south to the Trollkonufingur - it was a kind of surprise for us (it is not mentioned as an option). Still, it was a wonderful trip!
