A lovely hike with an experienced local guide. Our host was happy to answer all of our questions and had some very interesting tidbits of information to share about the history and architecture of Sandavágur and the surrounding area. We were there on a foggy day, but the view of Trøllkonufingur above the open sea the was still worth it. On the way back, our guide stopped in the village to show us some of the most characteristics buildings and talk a bit more about the town and its cultural relevance; he also had some very good recommendations for things to do and visit while on the islands.
The walk was easy and pleasant, on a well-kept white road running on the side of a hill. We met hikers of all ages along the way, including some very young children. I would recommend you stop and try the café Fiskastykkið, back in the village: we had the most amazing hot chocolate and a great fish soup, and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
