Berg Hestar is a an old fashioned family company offering horse riding tours in the beautiful nature in the Faroe Islands. The company offers top quality riding experiences that combines horseback riding and sightseeing. Tours are made all year round. Berg Hestar is known for a friendly family atmosphere and captivating experiences when horseback riding. The farm is not only the departing point for tours but also a family home.

    We were lucky to have fantastic sunny & clear weather for horseback riding. We loved seeing the view down to Tórshavn from the rocky hills our guide led us on. Horses were very easy to handle (even at a gallop!) & overall it made for a really fun experience!

    Even though the weather was unforgiving and we couldn’t see Torshaven from above it was a very fun experience. The horses were kind and the guides friendly and competent.

    Very much enjoyed our ride. My husband is not a regular rider and I ride almost daily. We both felt well accommodated. The tracks we rode were great with lovely views. Highly recommend this tour.

    Būti su arkliais visada malonu. Bet dar maloniau, kai joju gamtos apsuptyje. Galbūt maršruto tikėjausi vaizdingesnio, bet su dukra nuostabiai praleidom. Tikiuosi kada nors ateityje dar kartą apsilankyti 😊

    An absolutely amazing experience. Our guides were so kind and sweet. They made us feel comfortable and safe while riding the horses.
    The horses are so incredibly beautiful, sweet and playful.
    Even though it was bitter cold the day we went, all 6 of us had a total blast.
    Highly recommend, dress accordingly so you can really enjoy the ride.

    As a first timerider, the guide looked after me very well. She chose the perfect horse for my level of skill which was absolutely none. She was very mindful of my position on the ride and even managed to get me to gallop some of the way. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience even though the weather was against us.
    Would recommend the Icelandic horse riding tour to all and particularly to novices.

    I’m so glad I decided to do this trip, it was really enjoyable. I am a little nervous on horses but I wanted to try it. These Icelandic horses are so gentle and the guide I had was a lovely girl who made sure I was safe and felt comfortable the whole time. Towards the end of the ride I even felt comfortable enough to allow my horse, Layla, to run. It was fantastic. I highly recommend this tour activity

    I did enjoy my horse riding experience. It turned out that I was the only person on this tour so I was able to dictate the pace of the whole ride to suit my ability and comfort level. In fact, I was encouraged to do this. Also, as with any small group, we were able to cover more distance that with a larger group. The young staff member who took me out on the ride was very chatty and told me a lot about the islands and living there. We cam e back just a few minutes early as it started to rain quite heavily but it didn’t detract from the ride.

    As a group of 4 and 3 were beginner level we felt very confident and relaxed with our guide Maria, we enjoyed the ride above Tórshavn and even trotted a few times, i would recommend this tour for all levels of riding experience

    Time to get acquainted with your horse and to get comfy and used to it before galloping. I liked that the way up the mountain and down were not the same.

    We had a lovely time riding in mostly sunny weather. Friendly guides and lovely horses. I’m an experienced rider but riding out with people a lot less experienced than me worked out great in the same group.
