Step aboard a quality boat and go on an unforgettable adventure to Vestmanna Sea Cliffs. On this classic Faroe Islands experience you will have the opportunity to see some of the most remarkable coastline in the Faroe Islands.
The trip departs from the harbour in Vestmanna, a village in impressive amphitheatrical settings. Vestmanna is also the tour's meeting point.
You will have the chance to enjoy the café just beside the departure point. Right next to the café, you will see a selection of small fishing boats belonging to the villagers.
After everything is set, you will sail out of the harbour and head straight to the stunning sea cliffs. Sail through breathtaking nature and explore the great wildlife just outside of Vestmanna.
The Vestmanna Sea Cliffs are a natural wonder and a must-see experience while in the Faroe Islands. Sheer mountain sides, towering sea stacks, and rich birdlife is what you will explore on this one and a half hour boat tour.
You will sail near these amazing cliffs and if weather permits, the tour will include sailing through rocky gorges. This scenic attraction will get you near to several bird species that are nesting in the narrow sloping ledges in the cliffs.
From the boat you will see high mountain peaks on Streymoy Island and many caves along the coastline. You will sail only few metres from the highest sea stack in the area Heygadrangur which rises 144 m (472 ft) out of the salty North Atlantic Ocean.
The boat trip along the narrow channel between sea stacks and the coast is a fascinating and unforgettable experience. There are no signs of human construction or development in this area. This adds to the undisturbed and untouched experience when exploring the cliffs north of Vestmanna.
Explore the breathtaking cliffs of Vestmanna on this boat trip with daily departures in summer. Check availability by choosing a date.

The Public Vestmanna Bus Route
You can also take the public bus to Vestmanna from Tórshavn during weekdays. In order to reach Vestmanna before the boat sails, make sure to jump on-board Route 100 from the bus terminal at the harbour in Tórshavn at 09:15 (for the 10:30 boat departure) or 13:15 (for the 14:30 boat departure). Always check the bus website ssl.fo for any bus schedule amendments.
The bus will stop only 50 metres away from the boat. You will be in Vestmanna more than 10 minutes before departure. The boat always waits for the passengers to arrive with the bus. So no worries that the boat will sail before you reach Vestmanna!

You will pay your bus ticket onboard the bus and you can use your credit card.

Due to bad weather, we had the alternative rout to Trollkonufingur. For the views and caves it was amazing. Only for the birds, there weren’t much birds.
The commentary given during the trip was extensive and very interesting.
When better conditions are available during the stay.
The rib boat tour to Hestur might be a good alternative to do as a backup when Vestmanna Kliffs are not possible to sail.

We arrived at the Vestmanna tourist office and had lunch, soup and salad very nice. Boat trip had about 60 people on it, there was plenty of room. Tour followed the coast with up close views of the cliffs (and sheep). Highlight was at the furthest point with sheer cliffs and witches finger. Captain was very skilled at getting boat into tight spots further enhancing the spectator experience.

This was a restful activity to do on our last day in the Faroe Islands. The boat travels past beautiful cliffs and caves with several species of birds. There was limited outdoor space and the outdoor top deck filled up fast, so be sure to arrive early if you’d like to sit in a particular spot on the boat. However, even if seated indoors, there’s space at the back of the boat to step outside when the boat is close to the cliffs and moving slowly. Be sure to checkout the shop at the harbor, which is one of the few shops open on Sunday and has nice souvenirs.

Fabulous trip!
The Vestmanna cliffs are simply breathtaking, look otherworldly think Tolkien or Jurassic Park Islands.
The captain takes the boat close to the cliffs and sea stacks so everyone has an opportunity to take photos or simply admire up close.
The boat even goes under the cliff arches which had my jaw dropped a few times.
The guided talk is very interesting and informative.
Overall a wonderful experience 🤩

The tour was fantastic. We saw breathtaking cliffs. The ship also went into the small gaps, which made it an even more wonderful experience.
Unfortunately, I was so distracted by the sight that I can’t even remember what the captain said during the tour about the rocks and birds on the island…
I recommend it to everyone, this tour is really worth the money!

We did the southern tour of the cliffs of Vágar due to high winds and rain but it was still comfortable and we got to see puffins and seals. This gives you a whole different perspective on the islands and you get to see caves and wildlife you may not see from land.

A little windy day but got some rays of sun and a great guide/captain. Left the harbour exactly on time and returned a little later than planned. Had a wonderful salmon lunch in the restaurant upon return. Booking was a bit glitchy. The site kept saying “could not process” and ended up with 3 bookings. They did credit it back right away . We booked this tour as a spur of the moment decision for a day we had spare. This turned into a surprising highlight of the trip for us. The cliffs were amazing, we saw some puffins on the way and were genuinely shocked at how many sheep were clearly lost and had ended up stranded in the middle of no where.
The guides were great and gave lots of interesting information on the surrounding areas and history of Vestmanna. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the Faroe islands. Well worth the money

Great trip, with a good guide, who spoke a clear Danish and English. The waves where too Big for us to sail close the cliffs, but we didn’t mind. We recomend that your wear a lot of close, as it gets cold when you sit still. It is possible to be both in and outside on the boat we were on. We also recommend that you have a Nice fish soup afterwards.

Sometimes a ‘local boat cruise’ is just so-so…Not this boat trip!
Well worth the price and the hour and a half, to see a rugged side of the these Faroe Islands from the ocean/water perspective, imo.
Boat was crowded during our late September dreary day cruise, so be prepared for jostling and tight fit on upper deck or main deck when doing the slow passages through the arches and pillars, esp in ‘Summer’/more crowded times.
But, well done cruise and informative and an excellent way to see some close in, rugged perspectives of the amazing Faroe Islands shorelines and coast. I highly recommend the trip.
