Faer Isles is a craft distillery producing fine whisky and gin in the Faroe Islands. Located in the remote village Vestmanna on Streymoy Island, the distillery offers authentic guided tours to the process and spirits of the company.

Meet Bogi and Daniel and let them share their compassion for distilling. You may walk out and wonder if you should skip the hamster wheel yourself! Oh, and I forgot to mention the Subsea Vodka! Come hear the story for yourself over a wee dram.

    Their stuff is pretty good too, excellent gin & aquavit. Unfortunately no whisky as yet, but the new make spirit was pretty tasty, so hopefully some time in casks results in a top drop

    The tour was very interesting and tasty. Bogi (the CEO) explained all the steps of destillation, we made a line tour to the gin and the Whisky destilles and we could taste the spirits. I can really recommend the tour, especially once the first Whisky is ready in about 3 years from now.

    A must visit when coming to the Faroe Islands – one of the most interesting distillery trips we’ve ever done. Informative, funny and personable, it’s a unique experience to be guided by the distillery owners whose stories could have kept us entertained for hours. And it’s not all talk – their products are fantastic (their aquavit of course made it home in our suitcase) and truly unique. Can’t wait to see what they do next.

    Since we have been there between Christmas and new year we had a tour just for the five of us (Family). It was very interesting and Dánial told us a lot about the Distillery. He made this tour unique and perfect for us. The Gin, the Aquavit plus the Vodka is inimitably with the spirit of the Ocean :). We can highly recommend the tour plus the products.

    Highly recommend the tour; please know you must get yourself to the distillery- no pick up by a guide.

    Wow, was für eine tolle informative Tour. Die Leute sind wirklich mit Herzblut dabei. Die Produkte (Gin, Wodka, Aquavit und selbst der Rohbrand für den Whisky) waren alle top und sind echt empfehlenswert. Diese Tour ist einzigartig und sollte auf der “to do-Liste” der Färöer stehen.

    This was such a great tour! The perfect break from hiking every day! Their products are SO good (having some North Atlantic gin as I write this). Friendly and knowledgeable staff….I wish I could’ve stayed and been part of a “make your own barrel” party they were having the next day!!!

    The tour was informative and it was sure inspiring to learn a bit about local business besides exploration of the nature. And the operation at the distillery seems quite organized. I do look forward to their first whiskey to mature. The embedded tastings add more flavor to my Faroe memory.

    Be minded, their whiskey is not ready yet, first batch will be ready in 2-year time. And the tasting was mainly around their Gin and some other spirits. I was a bit disappointed as I was under the impression that they have matured, bottled whiskey already. Turns out, there is another small whiskey distillery in Faroe, and it was the one you can find from the airport.

    We had a fantastic tour with Sebastian who provided great information on the history of the distillery, the spirit making process and the local area. I also can’t forget that the samples were great too. We added on the warehouse tour and while it is not yet finished the location is spectacular and you can already see the potential (should be finished next year). I would highly recommend this tour as part of a Faroe Islands itinerary!

    Wir machen überall Touren mit und diese hier war echt spannend.
    Ich kann mir gut vorstellen in einigen Jahren wieder zu kommen und die Entwicklung zu verfolgen.

    The crew at the distillery knocked it out of the park. Had an absolutely great tour with Sebastian. He was super knowledgeable about all their offerings & taught us about their intricacies in a very fun way. Would highly recommend to anyone who likes Akvavit, Gin, Vodka or Whisky.

    My wife and I have visited distilleries all over the world, and I have to say Faer Isles was one of the best. Casual and professional, hosted by the owner (who has an excellent sense of humor). Much interesting info beyond just the usual “how are the spirits made” tour, especially the story of how Faer Isles Distillery came to be and the politics of such within the Faroe Island government. Very generous with the tastings, too! Highly recommended if you are into spirits, especially on a windy, rainy Faroe afternoon.

    This was an entertaining activity for a cool Good Friday. Our guide was humorous and friendly, describing the history of the distillery rather more than focussing on the distillation process. It took a little too long to get to the tastings which made them feel a bit rushed, but we were allowed a sample of the developing whisky.

    The distillery tour was fantastic. I felt very welcome and we got a lot of insights. You can hear and feel the owners passion on evey step of the tour! It is very inspiring! Also the atmosphere during the tasting was very generous. A MUST SEE!

    The tour of Faer Isles Distillery was excellent. The spirits were wonderful but the story of the distillery and some of the spirits were even better. The owner personally gave us the tour and took time to answer all questions and make conversation with all the guests. By the time our two hours were up, we wished we could have more time, that’s how engaging the tour was. Would highly recommend.

    Very nice visit to Faer Isles Distillery.

    Well worth a visit and highly recommend to buy one of their small tasters for the whisky which is very promising. It is not included in the tastings which is only for the spirits they produce (Gin, Vodka and Aquavit). They were all very good and highly recommend to buy one of them and get the new bottle made by a local artist. It is a small piece of art worth keeping.

    What a wonderful and informative experience! Our host who was the founder clearly had so much passion and vision for a truly high quality and local approach to his distillery. He was an extremely engaging host/guide who went into detail about his journey and philosophy and his future plans and diversification whilst waiting for his whiskey to mature. We also visited the barrel storage location which he has set up as a wedding reception venue with some of the most stunning views on the islands. The tastings were also really nice with each spirit we tried really high quality. We couldn’t help but buy one bottle despite having virtually no room left in our luggage! Would definitely make the time to take this tour.

    Nice visit of the Faer Isles distillery and an interesting tour. I like the philosophy of the distillery aiming for high quality products with local ingredients and minimal waste.
    The tasting included various types of aquavit and vodka, all with a subtle mouthfeel but full of spicy character.

    Very knowledgeable guide who went into the backstory of the distillery, the distillation process, and their ingredients. We tasted two akvavits, a vodka, and a gin. The price felt a little high for the hour tour and tasting, but it was a nice start to the afternoon.
