Oda was fantastic!
We absolutely enjoyed our stay there, everything was nice, the house was great and the tour with Oda in the evening was super!
We saw hundreds of puffins and very close by, so it was far above expectation.

It was great! One of the highlights of our trip. The weather was looking poor so Oda got in touch to say that she didn’t expect the ferry to run and she bought us tickets for the helicopter instead (we paid her for this), which meant that our visit was able to go ahead. It was really interesting to learn all about Mykines. Oda told us about farming and about Mikines the painter, which prompted us to visit the National Gallery when we returned to Torshavn.. Oda’s little cottage is lovely, she is a charming host and a great cook. The evening puffin walk was magical.

Our overnight stay and tour on Mykines was the highlight of our whole trip! I saw more puffins on our overnight tour than I saw in an entire week in Iceland! The hosts attention to detail, perfectly curated itinerary, and friendly hospitality made us feel right at home and exceeded every expectation we had for the tour. We wish we had booked additional nights/tours with our host because she is an absolute delight and really knew the Faroe Islands so well.

We had an amazing stay with Oda. Our visit to Mykines was the highlight of our visit to the Faroe Islands. Having the opportunity to stay locally, with such a knowledgeable and welcoming host, is a memory we won’t soon forget. We hope to return!

It was quite an adventure!
As we got on the ferry to Mykines with two Czech men with mountain bikes, the ferry man said there won’t be a ferry tomorrow and none on Saturday. We stayed on and planned to return immediately on the ferry. I had booked return on the morning helicopter but didn’t want to risk not being able to get back. When we met Oda she reassured us there would either be a return ferry or helicopter.
In brief: had a wonderful meal and walk with Oda. That night there was a storm and the following morning no chance of the ferry or helicopter (due to visibility). Oda said there would be a helicopter at 3pm and fortunately the weather cleared for a short time and we were flown back to the airport, not Torshavn as planned. The two Czech guys left their bikes to be transported by the next available ferry.
We are very seasoned travellers and loved the adventure. If we had been stranded for two days it would have taken two days from our 7 day stay in the Faroes which would have been disappointing. Overall we loved our trip to the Faroes.

We had the most spectacular evening with Oda on Mykines! It was so lovely to be there after all the crowds left and to see the puffins flying around at sunset. Oda’s home is beautiful and her cooking is fantastic! We ate like Kings for dinner and for breakfast the next morning. She arranged the round trip ferry for us and was able to give us other recommendations for the rest of our time here.
In the evening, we saw hundreds if not thousands of puffins, and because there were no crowds or noise they didn’t fly away!
It was certainly a highlight of our time in Faroe Islands and we would recommend it 100% to anyone!

Visiting Mykines with Oda was the highlight of our trip to the Faroe Island. Everything was perfect, from the beautiful sunset-walk, where Oda shared with us her secret spots to the delicious slow cooked lamb in Oda’s ‘hyggelige’ home. We loved everything! Highly recommended!

My parents and I spent a night at Oda’s place and she cooked us delicious dinner and breakfast. Oda took us for a hike around Mykines in the evening to see the best spot to see the puffins. It was nice since there were only four of us and no other tourists were around. My parents especially were able to take a lot of nice pictures of the puffins. In the morning she took us for a small walk around the village and left the island on the morning ferry. We highly recommend this trip. Oda is a very experienced guide and will do whatever it takes to make your trip memorable.

Spent a amazing time during evening and also morning, hiking and birdwatching, everything was perfect away from the crowd!
Even though sunset wasn’t clear, the scenery which dozen of puffins come back to their nest one by one is dramatically memorable.
Also, traditional meal from locals is definitely worth trying!
Through the great eyes of the open-minded guide Oda, you can unquestionably experience the real Faroese way to enjoy the whole island!

I really wish I could give this unlimited stars. My friend and I started off our 2 week long vacation with this tour, and everything from the ferry ride to the puffins and lambs you make friends with along your private journey to the unbelievable world of Mykines, population 9-20 depending what season it is, is jaw dropping. Oda could not have been a more amazing host, welcoming us to her private house that she painstakingly renovated and taking us on the journey less traveled by tourists through a sunset 3 hour long hike across the western edge of the island. Mykines feels like the end of the world, and Oda gave us a level of appreciation for it that no other tour guide could have done. Plus, she is an incredible chef as well!!
Note that this tour doesn’t include visiting the lighthouse, as it is not permitted to hike there before the morning ferry arrives and after the afternoon ferry leaves, which was a concern for me. However, after taking the nighttime hike, I didn’t miss it at all. I would 100% prefer the hike we took over a tourist-centric hike to the lighthouse. That said, Oda does those hikes as guided tours as well, and I highly recommend considering her as your guide if you can’t stay the night!
