Day 1
Hello! Welcome to the Faroe Island. We hope you had a pleasant trip. You are about to start your astonishing journey here with us, and we will tell you all about it. But first...
Let’s get your car, so you can get around. The car will be at the pickup location at Vagar Airport upon your arrival in the Faroe Islands.
Once you got your car, head to the unspoiled village Gásadalur. Here you will see the top attraction Múlafossur Waterfall. This stunning natural wonder drops right into the impressive North Atlantic ocean. You can easily spend an hour here simply soaking in the sight.
If you have an early flight, you will have time for another activity on your first day. Drive to Lake Leitisvatn. From here you will go on an easy hike to Trælanípa. This is where you will see the lake above the ocean and Bøsdalafossur Waterfall.
We recommend you to dine in Tórshavn. The capital has a vibrant restaurant scene.
Day 2
Good morning! It's your second day in the Faroe Islands.
Explore Sandoy Island for the day. Your goal is to see the spectacular cliffs along the coastline on the island.
Getting to Sandoy Island is easy thanks to an underwater tunnel linking the capital on Streymoy Island to Sandoy Island. Nestled near mellow landscapes close to the village Skopun lies Líraberg Cliff. The nature here is stunning and you will also have an exceptional view of the islands surrounding Sandoy Island.
In order to see Líraberg Cliff, you will go on one of the shortest and yet most beloved hikes to the attraction. Here you will see impressive rock formations shooting out of the sea and gorgeous rock walls.
Now it's time for you to enjoy the rest of the island. Make it to the lonely settlement Dalur and preferably also to Skálavík.
Day 3
Get ready for an extraordinary spa experience. Included in this package is a wellness spa experience like no other. It takes place in Tórshavn and comes with 3 hours of pure wellbeing.
Before you get to relax in the Nordic Spa House, go see the villages Kirkjubøur and Velbastaður. Both are located on the west side of Streymoy Island.
Kirkjubøur offers you a historical and cultural point of view of the Faroe Islands. There you’ll get the possibility to visit the ruins of the Magnus Cathedral, Kirkjubøar church and the old farmhouse, Kirkjubøargarður. You will get beautiful views of nearby islands
In the evening, we recommend you to try one of the many restaurants in Tórshavn. Most of the restaurants use local produce whenever and wherever it is possible with an offset in Nordic cuisine. Marrying the local with the international, the chefs create dishes full of familiar flavours without pretentiousness and dogma.
Day 4
See the stunning village, Saksun, and unspoiled settlements on Eysturoy Island. Walk along the long beach between the mountains until you reach the ocean.
Afterwards you’ll drive to the village, Eiði. There you’ll find the famous football stadium nestled next to the Atlantic Ocean. Eiði sits a short drive from Eiðisskarð, which is the trailhead to Mount Slættaratindur, the highest mountain in the Faroe Island.
In Eiði you’ll also walk up to Eiðiskollur Cliff, where you’ll see the famous stone stacks, Risin & Kellingin. These rock formations shoot out of the North Atantic Ocean.
If weather allows it, end the trip driving to Gjógv. This village is set in outstanding surroundings. The mountain road from the highest point on the tour and down the valley to Gjógv is amazing.
When driving back to Tórshavn, we recommend dining at Katrina Christiansen. Tapas inspired by the Faroe Islands. How does that sound?
This cosy restaurant in the heart of Tórshavn will let you taste the nature in the Faroe Islands.
Day 5
Among the eighteen islands that make up the Faroese archipelago, Eysturoy Island (East Island) is the second largest in both size and population.
You’ll drive towards the longest under-sea tunnel in the Faroes and the first roundabout under water in the world. You’ll arrive to Toftir, where you’ll hike around the beautiful Lake Toftavatn. Enjoy the rich birdlife and pass by the statue of the Shepherd with his dog.
After the tour you’ll drive through Runavík and head to Klaksvík. Klaksvík is the second largest town in the Faroe Islands. There you can go for a short hike up to Klakkur Mountain Ridge. This is an easy hike with a rewarding panoramic view of the town Klaksvík and surrounding islands.
End the trip, driving back to Tórshavn on the old route, where you’ll see the beautiful landscape while driving. We recommend eating at Tarv, which offers a tasty treat with the Tórshavn marina just outside the window.
Day 6
On the last day, you’ll have the day all to yourself. Either revisit Múlafossur Waterfall in Gásadalur or go for a stroll in Tórshavn.
