Jump aboard a comfortable boat and head to the famous sea arch Drangarnir. This essential Faroe Islands experience will let you admire one of nature's true wonders. You will experience among the world's most inspiring places from both land and sea.
What makes this tour so special is that you will set off in a boat from the harbour in the village Sørvágur. Sail along the fjord passing peaceful streams and grassy hillsides. The boat tour takes only 10 minutes or so. Getting to Drangarnir this way will protect the pristine hills between Sørvágur and the spot where you will enjoy Drangarnir. The most sustainable and convenient way to explore this famed attraction.
Once you reach land, the friendly landscape at the end of the fjord will greet you. For the next 1.5 hours, you will enjoy out-of-this-world landscapes independently. The views here will stay in your heart for the decades to come.
From where the captain drops you off, you will walk independently and safely to the scenery at Drangarnir. The walk to the famous sight of Drangarnir will take less than 5 minutes. There is a beautiful grass-covered slope here which bends towards the culminating point of the tour: the undisturbed view of Drangarnir in all its glory.
Your captain is passionately committed to tell you everything about Drangarnir. He will use his local knowledge to point you to the best spots to capture the best possible photos of this remarkable sea arch that rises out of the waves.
These sights are yours for more than an hour, which gives you plenty of time to soak in the unbelievable attraction. Move from one photo spot to the next in order to get as many photos of Drangarnir from different view points. Get photos of Drangarnir from both beach level and from higher points.
Now, you will take the short hike back to where the boat dropped you off. The captain will take you onboard again and sail you the short distance to Sørvágur. Once you reach Sørvágur, you can see the Drangarnir in the horizon and you will be thankful that you just got the opportunity to explore this amazing attraction up-close.
So what are you waiting for? Don't miss this unique opportunity to experience the Drangarnir sea stacks. Check availability by choosing a date.

A highlight on our trip! The initial boat ride was short and targeted to get us quickly on land where we were free to walk about the peninsula and take in the spectacular views of islands Tindhólmur and Drangarnir, the main target of the outing. You can stay on safer, even ground or you can explore the higher grounds as long as you have sturdy footwear. The views from higher up, towards the south-facing plunging cliffs were also amazing! The grand finale came, fittingly, at the end: After the boats picked us up, they sailed around and through Drangarnir, spoiling us with breathtaking new angles of the dramatic cliffs! Highest recommendations.

We enjoyed our boat tour to the Drangarnir sea stacks! The weather was looking poor for our original date, so the tour guide reached out to reschedule us which we appreciated. We ended up with amazing weather that day (the best of our entire trip!) and had a fantastic time exploring. The boat ride is quick and we get up close to the sea stacks before docking. It is quite slippery when you land, so bring good shoes! A short steep climb to amazing views. We packed some snacks and enjoyed our time exploring- it sure beats a 5-6 hour hike! Would recommend! 🙂

What a spectacular place! This is essentially a ride to get to Drangarnir. They boat you over and drop you off for a bit and then pick you up. It was beautiful! The shore has no dock or man made spot for the boat to drop people off so that can be slippery and we were a little surprised when the boat just rammed into the rocks and let us off. Plenty of time to hike around and take photos and videos to your hearts delight.

One of the most beautiful experiences in Faroe islands, the boat trip is like a rollercoaster, very funny, and the place is simply amazing. We were very lucky to come in a sunny day.

I actually wanted to do the hike to Drangarnir, but I was waiting for a more concrete weather forecast and ultimately the spots filled up. It was a nice sunny morning when I did the tour. This boat tour when I originally researched it was $350 USD, which I thought was much too expensive, but at $144 USD I opted for this as an alternative to the hike. I booked the same morning of the ride and while still pricey it was a really cool experience. The time savings over the hike was worth it to me (giving me ~4 hrs back to my day to go see other things) and the ~1.5 hrs given on-land to go around the end of the peninsula was juuussst enough time to take pictures from various angles etc (from a photographer’s perspective, anyways). The total time from port-to-port was about 2 hours. I think another 30 minutes on-land would have been perfect, or alternatively, a loop in the boat around the far side of Tindhólmur would be interesting. Anyways, the boat ride was a cool experience, including going through the “arch” and around the sea stacks, before going on land. Be warned that they leave promptly at departure time (I think they were actually leaving a few minutes early, I got to the boat maybe 5 minutes early after parking and gathering my things, and was the last on the boat, which was about to leave!), so I’d suggest to arrive at least 15-20 mins early. Overall I’d do it again and would recommend at the current price point.

So luckily when landing island that 30min rain stop and wind weak more. So happy the tour as landscape so impressive even very little sunshine but full enjoyable. Thanks for all staff everyone is so nice. Good for joining as it really amazing place and tour

You could even hike up the mountain a little to have a view of the atlantic ocean which was impressive to the eyes, i reccomend this tour to anyone visting the faroes! its also combined with a small boat tour to drop of location

Overall a very good experience. It was a quick boat ride to the drop off spot, take your waterproofs as the boat is not covered! Once you reach land you need to climb over slippery rocks to get to the grassy area. The hikes to the various viewing areas are steep and slippery in wet weather. The views of the sea stacks were great. We 3 are droners and were told it was not possible to drone due to nesting birds which of course we fully understood. We will have to return out of bird season for those iconic drone shots! Once dropped off we had 1.5 hrs to take photos and walk around, which was plenty of time. The price is a bit steep for what is basically a boat ride .

Overall a good experience. It was a quick boat ride to the drop off spot. Once you reach land you need to climb over slippery rocks to get to the grassy area. The hikes to the various viewing areas are steep and slippery in wet weather. There was an elderly couple on our tour who had significant difficulty getting on/off the boat and walking on land, so keep that in mind if you have mobility issues. The weather was rainy when we went so the views of the sea stacks were sometimes shrouded by low clouds/fog. Once dropped off we had 1.5 hrs to take photos and walk around, which was plenty of time. The price is a bit steep for what is basically a boat ride. But since the alternative to get to see the sea stacks was a long difficult hike, we chose to do it.

Fantastic tour guide (both on the boat and when on land by the Drangarnir arch – two different people), quite a lot of free time on land and the terrain is great for hiking – fantastic views and if the weather cooperates (we had beautiful sunny weather, mid-July) you’re in for a treat and a half!
I love a good RHIB ride so the boat ride was a nice plus as well – quite short, but nice! The only real gripe I have is that it definitely isn’t the cheapest of tours for the time it takes (only reason it’s a 4/5 rather than 5/5). Then again, it’s the islands and prices are what they are after all. I felt I got value for my money, and it was nice with the smaller groups of people (2 boats, so 2×12 people on land at the same time).
Even with the price, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and take the tour again.

Boottrip was very good. A “drive thru” the arch before we were dropped on land. Schipper asked us the day before if we wanted to postphone the trip a day, because of the weather (totally clouded in the mist, no view).
The day after we managed to see something. Unfortunatly some low clouds made it not posible to see much of the second seastack, althou some good pics in the mist.
With this trip you are free to roam the cliffs above and have time to take pictures. Heard from someone else we meat that was not the case on the guided tour over land.
Organizing people were very friendly and helpfull.

I booked very late (one day before) and I could join a nice Belgian family. The drive with the boat took approx. 10 minutes and the landing was very safe.
We had a perfect day, nice weather, no wind and no tourists at the site😊. The scenery was one oft he greatest I’ve ever seen in my life and I enjoyed it so much.
Dark green gras, impressive cliffs and Drangarnir Sea Arch with ist surroundings. The sea was calm and clear and I took so many pictures. I’ve even two seals, puffins and many other seabirds. The boat was late (the captain announced this before) and therefore we had only less time to drive around the Sea Arch.
The three and a half hours were unforgettable and I was so happy I booked the tour. We had a very friendly and helpful crew. Thanks a lot!!
However it is quite expensive (with entrance to the national park) for me it was worth the money.
Thank you for this great trip and I really recommend it to all people they like this kind of scenery.

Thank you so much for reaching out. We had an amazing time on our boat ride to Drangarnir. We were blessed to be the only two people at Drangarnir, which gave us an opportunity to explore in seclusion (with only a couple of sheep to keep us company). It was one of our favorite experiences during our time in the Faroe Islands. We would highly recommend the tour to others!

Fabulous experience, without any doubt. Experienced captain and crew member, who brought us right to the end of what otherwise would have been a long hike. Ultrafast and comfortable boat. The price includes the (expensive) walking permit, so the price of the boat trip itself was actually very fair. We were offered an earlier pick-up in case of bad weather, but were so lucky to have a wonderful sunshine and no wind. We had the place to ourselves, and enjoyed every minute of the 2.5 hours we spent there.

The boat ride and view were great. Unfortunately the weather was cold, wet, and rainy constantly. The website says windproof jacket and hiking boots which I’m sure would be fine on dry days. For the rainy days a full on rain/windproof suit is preferred. If you are interested keep in mind the weather, an expensive watertight suit might be required. Also 2.5 hours is a little long and for the price I would recommend another tour.

It was great, thank you! Both guides were extremely accommodating, even with the turn of the weather that didn’t allow us to land to do the hike. Still a beautiful experience!

Drangarnir was the highlight of our vacation. Fabulous trip and the foggy mist with sunshine peaking through made it even cooler! We stayed on the island for 1.5 hours for light hiking and photos, which was perfect. The boat tour afterwards was also great. Would highly recommend!
