Mountain Hare hunting is the most enjoyable hunt you can go on in the Faroe Islands. It is an absolute blast! The hare hunting season in the Faroe Islands is open for two months in November and December. This is the time of the year when the islands are dressed in its winter glory.

You will stay in a secluded mountain cabin on Vágar island. Your personal local hunting companion will pick you up once you arrival at the airport in the Faroe Islands.

The local hunter will provide you access throughout the wilderness on Vágar island where Mountain Hares abound. You will hike in the great outdoors for three days.

The pristine landscapes are literally untouched by humans. Your local hare hunter will make sure that you are well equipped with a shotgun and all the gear.

Your guide will make sure that you get the best opportunities to shoot hares. Be prepared at all times because before you know it, you will have a hare or two running right by you.

The hunt will start when the morning has broken and until nightfall. Weather permitting, you will be hunting for three days.

You can expect the weather to change quite a lot. Your hunting guide will make sure to check the weather forecast and prepare each day taking the weather into account.

In the evening you can have an old fashioned cookout in the well equipped personal cottage. You will do the cooking independently.
