Dine with farmers in their private home filled with atmosphere and personality. Wife and husband Anna and Óli hold a farm on copyhold tenure as the 9th generation. You are invited to join an evening rooted in local and sustainable production, preparation and tradition.

Next to a floor-to-ceiling window in the village Velbastaður on Streymoy island, you will enjoy a five-course meal, a welcome dram and drinks. This exclusive experience comes with a sweeping view of the Hestfjørður fjord and Koltur island.

Recipes handed down through generations shape the food Anna and Óli will serve you. Each dish, each bite conveys the warm feeling of tradition and home.

Culinary skills are a legacy that you are blessed to receive from home. As a farmer’s daughter, Anna learnt as a child to prepare and preserve food from the sheep living freely in the mountains and to cook traditional dishes.

Both Anna and Óli's mother always insisted that only the best would do when it came to cooking. They went above and beyond the ordinary. In addition to serving delicious food, they set beautiful tables with fine china and silver cutlery taking pride of place.

Anna and Óli are both in their 50s and have had the great fortune of being included in the kitchen from very early on, and that has contributed greatly to food and cooking playing such a big role in their lives. This is your chance to sit at their table for an evening enjoying an intimate dining experiences.

As the 9th generation of custodians of this farm, they set great store by making sure that it retains a level of activity and value that will entice one of their children to take over when they one day retire.

Heimablídni translates directly as “home hospitality”. You are invited into a private home to get a true sense of the culture and food tradition in the Faroe Islands.

You will be served vegetables and meat that are 100% organic. Everything is locally sourced and taken straight from Anna and Óli’s farm.
