Spend a full-day experiencing some of the most beautiful highlights of the Faroe Islands. From the secluded villages Saksun, Tjørnuvík, and Gjógv to amazing waterfalls such as Fossá Waterfall.
The tour starts with pick up in Tórshavn at your preferred destination. You will head out of the city taking the epic mountain road route to Norðradalsskarð. This picture-perfect place will be your first stop on the tour. After enjoying the panoramic views, the tour will continue.
Next up is the much-talked-about hamlet Saksun surrounded by a tall mountains. Saksun is known for breathtaking scenery, turf roof houses and its natural beauty.
Heading onwards, you will reach the village Tjørnuvík. This small settlement is nestled in a valley protected by high mountains. Tjørnuvík boasts a striking black sandy beach loved by surfers around the globe. From the beach, you will see the rock formation Risin & Kellingin, who, according to legend, tried to drag the Faroe Islands to Iceland. Very few people live in the village. Those who do are known for their hospitality. Occasionally they also sell coffee and waffles.
Now it is time for you to enjoy the tallest waterfall in the archipelago, Fossá Waterfall. You will have a moment close to the fall simply soaking in the impressive sights.
Afterwards, you will drive from Streymoy island to the nearby Eysturoy islands. Along the route, you will pass the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands. Mount Slættaratindur (880 m) lies on the way to the lovely little village Gjógv on Eysturoy island. Gjógv is named after its deep gorge.
When in Gjógv, you will grab the lunch. You will have time to go for a stroll around the village and enjoy the beauty of the place. There is a short walk along a safe path out to a viewpoint slightly above the village.
It is now time to head back to Tórshavn. Expect to return to your accommodation at 17:00.
