Experience a peaceful retreat on the remote island Suðuroy. This off the beaten track location and truly unique house will recharge your mind.

Our house, built in 1910, has been our family’s property for four generations, is preserved and furnished with original inventory and restored to meet modern standards. We have four double rooms and one single room, bathrooms with shower and Bath-tub, large living room, sitting room and two additional lounges for our guests’ comfort.

We welcome you in our pristine home with a light meal before we take you on a guided hike to the spectacular and wondrous cleft Rituskorð and the iconic bridge there. Back from the hike, we serve dinner, prepared with natural, organic locally bred products, such as fish and mutton.

After dinner, we enjoy the evening and relax in our cosy lounges with homemade cake and a nightcap. This uncrowded place will make sure to give you a stress-free feeling far away from hectic urban life.

The following morning, we serve breakfast, and we can either take you for a stroll around the village of Hvalba or you can indulge by yourself and find peace, beauty and freedom in the vast, green surroundings, the endless ocean, the sandy beach and the view to the small, uninhabited island of Litli Dímun.

You can either bring your own car and park outside the house or you can take the ferry Smyril from Tórshavn to Suðuroy island. Once you reach Suðuroy, the bus to Hvalba is waiting on the pier in Tvøroyri and from here it will take you directly to your door in Hvalba where we will be greeting you.

So don't delay but make sure to book now so that you too can experience this incredible experience on Suðuroy island. Check availability by choosing a date.

Hvalba was incredible! Wonderful people and great food we enjoyed it very much!

We had a wonderful time in Hvalba, thanks! It was our second visit to the Faroe Islands, but the first time visiting Suðuroy. Heima í Stovu was wonderful… such a nice family, and a really great home and room for us to stay in. The food was delicious, the hiking was great. They couldn’t have been nicer. We will definitely go back next time we come to the Faroe Islands.
