The car will be ready for you to pick up at Vágar Airport. It takes literally only one minute to walk from the arrival hall to the car's pickup location at the airport's car rental service desk.
Deposit is arranged when you pick up the car at the airport.
Toll Tunnels
There are four toll tunnels in the Faroe Islands (Vágar Tunnel - Norðoya Tunnel - Eysturoy Tunnel - Sandoy Tunnel). These are all underwater tunnels.
- Vágatunnilin – DKK 100 (round trip)
- Norðoyatunnilin – DKK 100 (round trip)
- Eysturoyartunnilin – DKK 500 (round trip)
- Sandoyartunnilin – DKK 500 (round trip)
Alternatively, you can purchase a 3-day tunnel pass for DKK 400 with an additional day's DKK 100 cost per day. With the tunnel pass, you get unlimited trips through Vágatunnilin and Norðoyatunnilin as well as a single one way access through Eysturoyartunnilin (the one with the famous roundabout). Trips through the tunnels that are not paid for at the airport will be deducted from a deposit arranged when you pick up the car at the airport.

All cancellations must be made by e-mail. Guide to Faroe Islands is making every effort to ensure the best protection for the client in case of cancellations.
Day tours
These terms apply to day tours and activities booked on Guide to Faroe Islands when cancelled by traveller:
- a) For cancellations more than 48 hours before the start of the activity, you will receive a full refund.
- b) For cancellations 48 hours or less before the start of the activity or in case of no-show, no refund.
Multi-day tours
If you need to adjust your travel plans to the Faroe Islands, please kindly email us and we will try our best to present you with an alternative plan. These terms apply to multi-day tours and vacation packages.
- More than 7 days prior to arrival/tour date – 100% refund
- 3-7 days prior to arrival/tour date – 50% refund
- Less than 48 hours prior to arrival/tour date – no refund
Car Rental
Let Guide to Faroe Islands know one week in advance at latest if you need to cancel your car rental and you will receive a full refund..

I just wanted to share one piece of feedback. I accidentally got a parking ticket when using the timed parking bays on the Tórshavn waterfront, as I did not know that Denmark/the Faroe Islands requires the use of parking discs to indicate time of parking. We do not have this system in Australia and I have never seen it anywhere on my travels, so until I did some research I could not understand what the ticket was for as I had returned to my car within the 2 hour limit. I have paid the fine so nothing to worry about from your end, but would suggest in future informing international travellers of this requirement in case it is their first time seeing this.
