The ferry from Klaksvík to Kalsoy island can not be booked in advance. You will buy your cross-over ferry ticket from the staff onboard the ferry. The ferry to Kalsoy island is called SAM. The staff onboard the ferry accept all credit cards.
People are strongly recommended by the authorities not to bring their own vehicle to Kalsoy island. The ferry SAM has a capacity of only 12 cars.
There are several narrow and dark mountain tunnels on Kalsoy island. These tunnels are not made for inexperienced tunnel drivers.
