Explore the unspoiled Mykines island on this extraordinary evening and sunset tour. You will be away from the crowd and watch all the puffins with a local guide.

Blend in with the locals and the puffins and enjoy the tranquility of Mykines Island in the evening. This overnight tour to Mykines including accommodation is a once in a lifetime experience.

In the evening, the puffins gather together for a bit of social time. You will be in the middle of this extraordinary bird happening.

You arrive in the late afternoon with the boat Jósup. Your local guesthouse hostess and guide will meet you by the boat and take you to the guesthouse.

Here you will enjoy dinner in one of the oldest houses on Mykines Island. During dinner, your hostess will tell you the best stories and legends about this magical Island. Among others the great Mykines painter, Sámal Joensen Mikines, fishery and the state of the island and the birdlife as you see it today.

After dinner, you will pack coffee and sweets for your evening tour. Now, you are ready to meet and greet the puffins and see the sunset.

The summer in the Faroe Islands is remarkable. During the peak of summer, there are 23 hours of light. This makes an evening tour in Mykines something truly special.

After the evening walk, you will go back to the guesthouse, one of the oldest houses on Mykines Islands. The guesthouse dates back to 1895. You sleep under the ceiling in cosy dbl. rooms with B&B standard. The guesthouse is turfed roof.

Next morning you will have a breakfast of course served with homebaked bread and eggs from the local farmer on the island. You can then take a stroll through the village and down to the ocean. Alternatively, the tour guide can take you on one more tour to the hill to say good morning and goodbye to the puffins. You will take the boat back to Sørvágur at 11.05 in the morning.

Do not hesitate to book this absolutely fantastic experience on the most sought-after island in the Faroe Islands. Check availability by choosing a date.

Everything was absolutely amazing! We loved every minute!

The tour is wonderful. Oda welcomed us warmly and her place is cozy and comfortable to stay. We could see ton of puffins and the view was amazing.

I really wish I could give this unlimited stars. My friend and I started off our 2 week long vacation with this tour, and everything from the ferry ride to the puffins and lambs you make friends with along your private journey to the unbelievable world of Mykines, population 9-20 depending what season it is, is jaw dropping. Oda could not have been a more amazing host, welcoming us to her private house that she painstakingly renovated and taking us on the journey less traveled by tourists through a sunset 3 hour long hike across the western edge of the island. Mykines feels like the end of the world, and Oda gave us a level of appreciation for it that no other tour guide could have done. Plus, she is an incredible chef as well!!

Note that this tour doesn’t include visiting the lighthouse, as it is not permitted to hike there before the morning ferry arrives and after the afternoon ferry leaves, which was a concern for me. However, after taking the nighttime hike, I didn’t miss it at all. I would 100% prefer the hike we took over a tourist-centric hike to the lighthouse. That said, Oda does those hikes as guided tours as well, and I highly recommend considering her as your guide if you can’t stay the night!

Spent a amazing time during evening and also morning, hiking and birdwatching, everything was perfect away from the crowd!
Even though sunset wasn’t clear, the scenery which dozen of puffins come back to their nest one by one is dramatically memorable.
Also, traditional meal from locals is definitely worth trying!
Through the great eyes of the open-minded guide Oda, you can unquestionably experience the real Faroese way to enjoy the whole island!

My parents and I spent a night at Oda’s place and she cooked us delicious dinner and breakfast. Oda took us for a hike around Mykines in the evening to see the best spot to see the puffins. It was nice since there were only four of us and no other tourists were around. My parents especially were able to take a lot of nice pictures of the puffins. In the morning she took us for a small walk around the village and left the island on the morning ferry. We highly recommend this trip. Oda is a very experienced guide and will do whatever it takes to make your trip memorable.

Oda was a knowledgeable and caring guide. She also prepared wonderful dinner and breakfast for us. The evening hike was truly amazing and unforgettable. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone coming to Faroe Islands. The sunset was gorgeous and you just can’t stop taking pictures of those lovely puffins!

Visiting Mykines with Oda was the highlight of our trip to the Faroe Island. Everything was perfect, from the beautiful sunset-walk, where Oda shared with us her secret spots to the delicious slow cooked lamb in Oda’s ‘hyggelige’ home. We loved everything! Highly recommended!

We had the most spectacular evening with Oda on Mykines! It was so lovely to be there after all the crowds left and to see the puffins flying around at sunset. Oda’s home is beautiful and her cooking is fantastic! We ate like Kings for dinner and for breakfast the next morning. She arranged the round trip ferry for us and was able to give us other recommendations for the rest of our time here.
In the evening, we saw hundreds if not thousands of puffins, and because there were no crowds or noise they didn’t fly away!
It was certainly a highlight of our time in Faroe Islands and we would recommend it 100% to anyone!
