    This was a fantastic tour. The scenery for the walk was lovely, and fortunately the rain stopped for the duration! The other stops on the island were also enjoyable, and the two waterfalls were impressive in their own ways – Múlafossur for the waterfall itself, Bøsdalafossur for the view along the coast. Thanks to his efforts, my father and I enjoyed a private afternoon tour led by Jóhan himself, and it ended up being our best day on the Faroe Islands by far!     The different sites which Hans brought us to were just amazing for picture taking! Despite the long trail (3.5km one-way), Hans walked us to viewing points where we see different angles of the “lake above the ocean”. Get ready for a bit of walking but the view at the end of the trail is worth more than the efforts. As always, be prepared for the strong winds. Thank you so much, Hans.

    It was a great tour, we were only 4 so it was friendly and personalised.
    Our guide, Hans, would stop along the road every time there was a cool spot where we could take pictures and would give us some related information or story. It was a beautiful day for our hike and the view from the lake above the ocean was awesome.
    Would recommend, note though that there was no time for lunch stop on our tour due to time constraint.

    Today, 3/3/24, was a great adventure and experience with Hans. It was a very windy hike to the overlook where the lake cascades as a waterfall into the ocean. Hans safely guided another guest and myself so we could experience the view and not be blown off the cliff. His knowledge of the areas was presented in a delightful way as to encourage us to ask more questions. I was able to become totally immersed in how village life is lived on the Faroe Islands. Hans demonstrates pride in his country and extends the invitation to his clients to enjoy the beauty of the Faroe Islands and its residents. Thank you Hans for a very memorable tour.

    An incredible experience. The best excursion we did in a two week trip in Norway, Iceland and Scotland. The guide was so helpful and friendly. I booked the wrong day and the company changed my booking with less that 24 hours to trip.

    We really loved the walk to the end of the lake and were given lots of time to enjoy and explore the area.

    This is the one trip that you should not miss. You need to be fit enough to walk for 3 hours, but the walking is not difficult – mainly flat ground.

    Favorite tour of my trip. My tour guide Andrias was wonderful. Despite the weather being rainy, I had a spectacular time, and the views were stunning. I ended up being the only person on the tour that day. Since I had already been to some of the sites on the tour, after the hike we explored another area instead. Overall, I learned a lot and had a lot of fun.

    Johan was a friendly and incredible guide, taking care to point out interesting facts and the best places to take photos along the hike that I would have missed if I had gone myself. There were only two of us on the tour and I appreciate the smaller size as it was more personal. After the hike, Johan and his father took us to grab burgers (which were delicious!) and we walked around on the peaceful black sand beach of Bøur before finishing the tour at Múlafossur. Johan was also kind enough to help me reschedule my tours later in the week due to bad weather.

    This tour is an absolute must do in the Faroe Islands, thank you Johan for the unforgettable experience!

    This was the first hike I’ve done in a while but I shouldn’t have been worried. The route is fairly easy going with one final push to the clifftop, and manageable with waterproofs and hiking boots. My guide Simon was excellent company and the 5 hours flew by. Lunch on the silent beaches of Bøur was a real highlight.

    We went back and forth about just doing this hike ourselves or paying for a guide and tour. At the last minute we decide to book this tour and we are oh so happy we did. Andreas was amazing!! He knew everywhere to go and made the trip so much fun. We enjoyed all our tours in Faroe Islands, but this was the best!! We had already done some of the things on the trip and he was kind enough to add some completely off the tour route stuff for us instead. We cannot say enough good things about this tour!

    This has to be one of the coolest things I have ever seen and done. It was all thanks to our tour guide Simon and Gunnar who was our driver for the day. Even thought the weather was not so great both Simon and Gunnar made sure that we would make the most out of our tour. Hike was well worth it since the views from the top were spectacular. Being surrounded by good people and enjoying their company as well as admiring beautiful scenery is something I will remember for the rest of my life. We made a deal that we would do the same tour but next time during the summer season. I can easily say money well spent. 5*

    Truly an Inspiring Hike

    Johan is the very best! My sister and I had an exceptional day hiking with Johan and learning all about the Faroe Islands. Firstly, I will just say that Johan is exceptionally competent and has a deep knowledge of the Faroes (we learned so much!). The whole day was really well done — a pickup directly from our hotel in Torshavn, then off to see some exceptional vistas, the hike to see the optical illusion lake above the ocean, then off to another gorgeous setting to enjoy a very delicious sandwich (excellent bakery bread!) and Faroese lemon soda, and finally a stop at the famous waterfall that you very often see when you look up the Faroes. We had booked a horseback riding excursion just after, and Johan very kindly took us directly there! We could not have had a better day. Also, if you are looking for a more personalized hike, this is the one for you. The group size was five total, so it was lovely as we weren’t being carted around on the big tour buses. Huge thanks for a wonderfully memorable day.

    Johan is the best! Had such a great time on this tour. Love that Johan only takes small groups so the tour feels really personalized and you feel like you’re traveling with a group of new friends and not on a big travel tour. Everyone on my tour had already been in the Faroe Islands for several days, so rather than go over the same basic facts about the Islands, Johan really tried to give us more interesting stories and insights and was great about answering any questions we had. He was also incredibly helpful for some of the group that weren’t sure about how to get around the islands for other tours they had booked. I can’t say enough good things about Johan and this incredibly fun tour. Just be aware it’s more of a 6 hour tour than 5 hour (Johan has tried to get this listing updated to note this). Five stars all around!
