See as much as possible of this undiscovered corner of the world. With an experienced tour guide with a strong passion for seaside views and waterfalls, you are in good company.

Your life-long native Faroe Islands tour guide has the local knowledge and will make sure that you get the most out of your time around the Faroe Islands. So this is what awaits you.

You will be picked up in the morning at your accommodation in Tórshavn (including the suburbs Argir and Hoyvík) on Streymoy Island.  Just let the tour guide know where you are staying once you book the tour.

Now, you will hit the road and head straight to Eysturoy Island. Your tour guide will take you along windswept mountains and all the way to the natural gorge in Gjógv, where you can enjoy the crashing waves.  The peaceful village Gjógv is waiting for you to be discovered.

Now, you will head to the tranquil hideaway Saksun. This lovely little village is tucked away in lush grass on the westside of Streymoy island. The village faces an incredible view of a hidden tidal lagoon.

You will now glide silently along the well-kept roads in the Faroe Islands and stop by the captivating Fossá Waterfall. Enjoy the power of nature for a while as you stand next to the crashing water beside this waterfall that drops in two levels.

After this experience, you will head to the remote settlement Tjørnuvík nestled in unmatched natural beauty. Travellers say this hidden valley feels like reclaiming nature.

There will be a stop at a restaurant for lunch. You can buy yourself something at the restaurant (no restaurant visit on Tuesdays).

Now you will get to the famed Vágar Island. Drive along the breathtakingly beautiful shoreline to the turf-roofed village Bøur. The view that you will encounter is otherworldly. You will have a great view of Tindhólmur islet and the famous sea arch Drangarnir.

Your final stop is the spectacular natural wonder in the small village Gásadalur. Here you will experience Múlafossur waterfall perched on the very edge and from where it plunges into the ocean. The scenery is so naturally and is the perfect place to recharge in nature.

    I have been on quite a few tours in my life and Elsa’s tour was by far the best. Not only the best tour I have been on but also one of the best holiday-related experiences of my life. Elsa really knows how to answer any questions you have and she is incredibly knowledgeable about the Faroe Islands. I truly feel like during the tour I learned more about the Faroe Islands than I would have if I lived there for a year or so. Despite the poor weather conditions, Elsa adapted the tour to meet our needs, she even kindly offered us hot coffee to drink when the rain became too much. My partner and I had an unforgettable time, we just wish we had booked a tour with lunch too! If you are ever traveling to the Faroe Islands you should book this tour, my partner and I may even book it again just to hang out with Elsa!

    The ‘See It All’ day tour with Elsa Maria was among the highlights of my 10-day holiday in the Faroe Islands. Having spent a week travelling alone and relying on public transport, it was wonderful to be driven around in a car by someone who really knows the islands, and getting an overall impression of many places in one day. Elsa Maria is a very knowledgeable and dedicated guide and drew our attention to sights we might not have appreciated as much otherwise. I recommend ordering the lunch, which was excellent. A great day all round! And receiving a link to Elsa’s great photos and a little video as a memento was a real bonus, as it reminded me where exactly we had been. Many thanks for superb tour!

I usually travel around on my own, without a guide, but this tour gives you a completely different insight into the country. That was super nice! We got to see a lot in a short time.     From the very first moment I was picked up at the hotel Elsa Maria won me over with her cordial and friendly manner which did not change during the entire day. She was tireless in showing us the islands, telling us the stories and legends of each spot, answering patiently the many questions we had about the islands, the history and the present day. She clearly enjoys guiding the tourists and showing this wonderful, remote and very special corner of the planet. Her love for the islands, her positive attitude to life in general, the sparkle in her eyes, is contagious and her straightforward manner passed on our small and random group.

    She prepared the lunch box for us giving us the opportunity to taste the Faroese food: the whale blubber with dried whale meat, and the famous fermented meat, in authentic setting.
    Upon returning home, I have found in my email the photographs she took along the way and the 3D itinerary of the trip for a long lasting memory.

    I am thankful for it all. I cannot recommend more Else Maria.

    The Faroe Islands have been on my bucket list for years and, to make the most of my time in this beautiful part of the world, I booked a full-day tour with Elsa Maria for the day after I arrived to enable me to see the best of some of the larger islands. I’m glad I did – even before I landed, Elsa Maria was in contact with me to ensure that everything went smoothly, and even contacted me the day before the tour as she was worried about the weather and, as I was the only person on the tour, wanted to ensure that I got the most out of my day.

    From the moment I met Elsa Maria, I knew I was in good hands. Her knowledge, and obvious love, of the Islands is obvious. She knows the most stunningly beautiful locations (not an easy task given they are all breathtakingly beautiful), was full of interesting anecdotes to help bring the Islands and its people to life, and was more than happy to stop for (multiple) ad-hoc photo stops. And I even got to experience a typical home-made Faroese lunch consisting of whale, cured sheep and salmon!

    Thanks to Elsa Maria, I saw some of the best of the Islands (with the Mulafossur Waterfall on Vagar Island cascading spectacularly into the ocean being a particular highlight), and learned more about what makes the Islands so very special. Five stars – I would recommend the Faroe Islands, and this tour, to everyone!

    We had a great day on this tour. We only had a three days stopover on the Faroe islands on our way to Iceland, and for us, the tour was just pefect. Although the programme may look crammed at first sight, we never felt stressed and even had time for a break with freshly baked waffles at Tjørnuvík. Elsa Maria used the driving times to give us a lot of insights into Faroese living.

    You should note that the Eysturoyartunnilin is used now on one way, so the tour works nicely as a round trip with some detours. This had three advantages for us. First, it allowed for more time at the different sites as the way through the tunnel is much quicker. Second, we got an impression of Eastern Eysturoy as well. And thirdly and most importantly, we saw Eysturoyartunnilin, which really is an attraction in its own with the undersea roundabout and the art installation.

    We highly recommend taking this tour!

    I had difficulty renting a car, and after walking,hiking,bus tours on our own for 4 days, I decided to book this day tour for me and my 9 yr/old daughter. Plus the group tour is small, we we’re only 7 people in total, so it was great, and there is time to get to know the others.     We had such a wonderful day with Elsa, despite it starting out rainy and windy, she managed to show us everything we could have hoped to see. The weather even cleared out toward the end of the day. Elsa is full of fun facts and stories about the islands that kept us entertained as we drove from place to place, she even treated us to some local foods/drinks to give us a true taste of the Faroes.

    Jeg havde en super god dag og fik set en masse smukke spændende steder på Færøerne. Guide Elsa-Maria var behageligt gæstfrit selskab og kunne fortælle meget om det vi så, og kunne supplere med anekdoter fra hendes egen opvækst på øerne. Hun tog endda billeder og sendte dem via en app sammen med et kort over hvor vi havde været. Kaffe og stort udvalg af kiks/kager. Turen kan bestemt varmt anbefales- jeg tror det er meget svært at få lige så stort udbytte ved at tage rundt på egen hånd.

    Truly the best way to see the Faroes if you are there for the first time. Elsa Maria seems to know everybody and has a personal connection to all the places we´ve visited. We´ve even been invited to houses. Also she can tell you a lot of background information about the islands and their people. Plus you get all the stunning scenery. Given the fact that a hired car will set you back around 1.000 DKK a day this trip is really good value – you add the guide for the rest.

    The tour was awesome. Our guide Elsa Maria did a great job, all was very well organized and prepared. Telling us personal stories and other interesting things it was remarkable how much Elsa Maria loves the Faeroe Islands. The tour is the best choice to see in short time as much of spectacular spots as possible. An great advantage is that the tour includes the highlights of Vagar Island too. For me the tour also was a perfect appetizer for going around the Faeroer by my own.

    In addition to the main attractions of the islands, you also get to see unique locations that you wouldn’t necessarily know about when travelling alone.
    I strongly recommend this tour for people who are staying for a week or less as it gives you a good picture of the whole country.

    If you are on the Faroe Islands for a limited amount of time I would highly recommend this trip. Elsa Maria is an authentic, warm-hearted and knowledgeable guide who will make your day, either you travel alone or with company.

    She was solution oriented when I made a mistake booking the tour and picked me up at the airport upon arrival. We then spent the rest of the day exploring the magic scenery of the Faroe Islands while she was sharing history and personal experiences.

    As the weather conditions where somewhat challenging we ended up doing a more thorough sightseeing of Tórshavn, which was very helpful when I explored the city the next days. Elsa Maria also made sure I had a nice restaurant to have dinner at though all restaurants seemed fully booked due to Valentine’s Day.

    I would chose her as my tour guide any day! Highly recommended!

    We were a group of Swedes and one Norwegian deciding to go on a hike and ending the day with a boat trip with Guide to Faroe Islands, as we were having a work-visit on the Faroe Islands September 15th, 2019. As most Nordic people have been out hiking before, we met properly dressed, warm clothes, light backpacks with that little extra one tends to need on a trip, a sweater, chocolate, water, nuts, tissue paper and a camera. Everything came in handy, not to mention the camera. A lovely guide took us along paths with views – making sure we all made regular pauses to catch or breath from walking – or just to be able to take in the unique scenery. We were also served delicious lunch-packs on route and a small taste of local liquor. As the weather became increasingly more windy, the boat-trip was cancelled, but our innovative guide put us all in her van and brought us on a memorable car trip, passing scenery, villages, beaches, small- industrial projects and cultural centre points, houses, – all accompanied by a colourful and personal story from the guide. As we all joined in singalong the last mile back, it was an expression of rare well-being and joy. A breathtaking trip, the scenery-the atmosphere- the stories- and the guide!
