See as much as possible of this undiscovered corner of the world. With an experienced tour guide with a strong passion for seaside views and waterfalls, you are in good company.

Your life-long native Faroe Islands tour guide has the local knowledge and will make sure that you get the most out of your time around the Faroe Islands. So this is what awaits you.

You will be picked up in the morning at your accommodation in Tórshavn (including the suburbs Argir and Hoyvík) on Streymoy Island.  Just let the tour guide know where you are staying once you book the tour.

Now, you will hit the road and head straight to Eysturoy Island. Your tour guide will take you along windswept mountains and all the way to the natural gorge in Gjógv, where you can enjoy the crashing waves.  The peaceful village Gjógv is waiting for you to be discovered.

Now, you will head to the tranquil hideaway Saksun. This lovely little village is tucked away in lush grass on the westside of Streymoy island. The village faces an incredible view of a hidden tidal lagoon.

You will now glide silently along the well-kept roads in the Faroe Islands and stop by the captivating Fossá Waterfall. Enjoy the power of nature for a while as you stand next to the crashing water beside this waterfall that drops in two levels.

After this experience, you will head to the remote settlement Tjørnuvík nestled in unmatched natural beauty. Travellers say this hidden valley feels like reclaiming nature.

There will be a stop at a restaurant for lunch. You can buy yourself something at the restaurant (no restaurant visit on Tuesdays).

Now you will get to the famed Vágar Island. Drive along the breathtakingly beautiful shoreline to the turf-roofed village Bøur. The view that you will encounter is otherworldly. You will have a great view of Tindhólmur islet and the famous sea arch Drangarnir.

Your final stop is the spectacular natural wonder in the small village Gásadalur. Here you will experience Múlafossur waterfall perched on the very edge and from where it plunges into the ocean. The scenery is so naturally and is the perfect place to recharge in nature.

    Elsa Maria is a first class guide with an engaging, lively personality. She is also thoughtful and very obliging – stopping so we could ‘take a quick photo’ as frequently as we wished.

    We loved our tour. Her English is so good she could joke with us – a sign of her mastery of the language.
    She had thought out the route carefully with two coffee breaks (plus chocolate biscuits!) morning and afternoon provided by her, water and plenty of loo breaks. She chose a lovely place for lunch too.

    Elsa Maria’s knowledge is outstanding and she was able to tell us saga stories at the different stops but also answer cultural questions, geological questions, questions about the bird life and add her own personal experiences of travelling to stay with her grandmother as a little girl, life then, and the house where she was born.

    Consequently the tour lasted far longer than billed (2 hours more) and we felt we got a real feel and knowledge of the islands and the people.

    The icing on the cake was to be sent the video of our trip with the map of the stops so we knew where we had been because our photos do not have that.

    A totally brilliant day!

    On Wednesday last week, me and my friend did your 7-hour ‘See it all’ sight-seeing trip, in what can be described as not the very best of weather conditions. Our guide, Elsa Maria, was simply amazing. Her enthusiasm and love for her work were contagious, and her stories about all sorts of different aspects of Faroese life, nature and culture truly made this an unforgettable day. She was very flexible and made sure that the experience was as enjoyable as possible for everyone, even supplying those who did not have any rain gear with them with the necessary outfit. Getting to taste the local delicacies of the Islands, which she brought for all of us, really made our day. Highly recommended!

    I went to the 7 hour Faroe Islands tour on Sunday 22 May.
    The tour guide Elsa is a lot of fun. The trip is a great opportunity for visitors who are staying in the Faroe Islands just for a few days and don’t have a car as it covers all the major places of interest in just one day. A very nice experience. If you order a packed lunch, you can expect some local delicacies and traditional foods.

    I was fortunate enough to attend a “See It All” tour with Elsa Maria on 14th May 2022. The tour was superb, and must have taken us past pretty much everywhere in the Faroe Islands that doesn’t require a boat to visit. As well as the epic scenery (waterfalls, cliffs, mountains and fjords), we visited villages (Saksun was my favourite), spotted island bird life (puffins, black guillemot) and tried the local cuisine, both on the road and in a charming restaurant.

    Elsa Maria was an excellent guide, full of information covering natural history, culture, history and politics, and she came prepared with an array of snacks and drinks to keep the group going.

    I can certainly recommend this tour on a visit to the Faroe Islands.

    I cannot rate this highly enough. If I could give her more than 5 stars I would!

    The tour lasted 7.5 hours (after she had checked with the 3 of us involved if going over the 7 hours would be okay). We did a 250km round trip stopping at so many points of outstanding natural beauty. Elsa Marie is extremely knowledgeable and so we gained a huge insight into the history and culture of the Faroe Islands. She is very personable, friendly and thoughtful. She came equipped with tea, coffee, water and snacks as well as spare waterproofs for us. She also made sure we had sufficient comfort breaks. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her.

    Elsa Marie said that she would send us photos and videos of the trip afterwards and we received that very promptly after the tour. However this was not just an ordinary e-mail with videos and photos attached. She had used the relive app and we received a wonderful memento, plotting our journey along a maps with all the stops we made along with accompanying photos and videos highlighted at the relevant stops along the way. Absolutely first class service.

    I cannot thank Elsa Marie enough for making the whole day such a wonderful and enjoyable trip. I highly recommend this to others. She goes over and beyond any tour guide I have ever been with.

    This trip was outstanding! We were on the road for almost 8,5 hours (1 and a1/2 hour more than planned) but time just flew by and we had a great time. Elsa Maria is a lady (with big L) who realy sets the standard, she has a great personality, has a clever sense of humor, and she realy knows how to treat her customers / travellers. She proudly present her island, and what it has to offer, and she rightly do so! Would recommend this trip for everyone, and especially if you are at Faroe Island for just a short periode of time.

    I just wanted to write and tell how much me and my daughter enjoyed “The Full-Day Faroe Islands Tour” we did on April 30th with Elsa Maria and Jens Petir.
    Me and my daughter spent three full days on the Faroe Islands last April and on one of the days we booked “The Full-Day Faroe Islands Tour”. And what a full day it was. We saw so much of the Faroe Islands we would not had time to see on our own. Elsa Maria, our guide, did an amazing job of showing us the beautiful nature and views of different villages. At the same time she told us facts, history and stories of the different places or/and the Faroe Islands. She made us very comfortable and included in the group of 10 together (from different parts of the world) The ones that ordered lunch got to taste some traditional Faroe Islands food and drink. After a full day of fantastic impressions we felt like we knew the Faroe Islands a little better and liked it all.

    We had four full days at the Faroe Islands in April. As we had only this short time on the islands, we choose the “Gorgeous 7 Hour Faroe Islands Sightseeing Tour” from Guide to Faroe Islands, in order to see as much as possible. As a further benefit to all the places included, we got all the local facts, stories and folklore from our amazing guide. She showed us three islands, several villages and scenic landscapes on 250 km of driving on a day packed with experiences. From Gjógv with Princess Mary’s bench, sheep, the worlds maybe smallest local museum and lots of local facts to Gásadalur with a beautiful waterfall. Visits to a surfers beach, local houses, a bridge spanning the Atlantic Ocean, an underwater round-about and a wonderful lunch in Sandvágur. Our guide was great company for the full seven hours and we learned so much of her. She also told a lot about her own and her family’s history of the Faroe Islands. Great value for money!

    We drove the tour around Streymoy, Eysturoy and Vágoy. Our guide and driver was Elsa Maria. This is a tour I can recommend to everyone.
    If it is your first time in the Faroe Islands; you really get a very nice overview of the 3 main islands. If you have been here already several times, Elsa Maria knows where to find some unique and hidden spots for you to discover. Although we had a typical Faroese weather e.g very windy, rainy and cloudy, we really enjoyed the magnificent and stunning scenery. We learned a lot from Els Maria and enjoyed her personal stories about what life is all about here very much. The unexpected Faroese lunch was a great bonus.

    My wife and I booked a trip on April 30, 2022 with Elsa Maria and Jens Petir to spend a day driving to the islands of Streymoy, Eysturoy and Vágoy, and we feel as if we made a very lucky choice: they are fantastic hosts and guides, and we had a wonderful day!

    We learned so much about the history and culture of the Faroes while visiting some spectacularly beautiful natural wonders, and Jens Petir’s and Elsa Maria’s knowledge, enthusiasm, and organization made for a day very well spent. We also very much enjoyed the additional opportunity to partake of some typical Faroese foods, prepared, explained, and presented by Elsa Maria.

    We could not have asked for a better way to get to know some of the Faroe Islands in such a short time, and we’ll certainly recommend this tour to our friends and acquaintances. From start to finish, the tour was well-organized, and our hosts were friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic!

    We are so grateful that we took the leap and went on a tour with Elsa. She was a fantastic tour guide and showed us sites that we would not have found. She is so passionate about her island, and she is an incredible storyteller. We messaged her before the tour requesting to find a place to eat, and she was super accommodating. She took us to the best cafe with amazing fish soup. I highly recommend it! We were also interested in finding a scenic hike, and she offered to add it onto our tour. We are so grateful we took her up on this offer because she took us on a great hike to the Lake above the Sea. Again, there is now way we would have found this without her. Driving in the Faroe Islands is not simple, so we were grateful to be riding in Elsa’s van as she mastered the roads perfectly. Do not be deterred by the price. It is definitely worth it!

    Vores “mor/datter”-tur til Færøerne i april blev krydret med en fantastisk dag sammen med Elsa Maria rundt på øerne. Der var god stemning fra morgenstunden – luksus at blive hentet på hotellet og skøn bil! Der var rigelig tid til at få anekdoterne med indimellem fotografering og fantastiske udsigter… Også under jorden, hvor vi lige var et par gange rundt i den store Østerø-rundkørsel 😀 Vi blev beriget med frokost (og en snaps), historier om det færøske samfunds udvikling inden for vores levetid, besøg i bygder og storslåede scenarier… Da vi blev sat af ved vores hotel, var vi fyldt op af en fantastisk oplevelse sammen med Elsa Maria. Sjovt, at der så også var familietråde til vores hjemby og at vi havde fælles bekendte hen over Altanten… Tak for dagen, Elsa Marie!

    Denne tur kan STÆRT anbefales hvis man vil på en spændende rundtur med tilhørende historie om Færøernes lange eksistens, som er forrygende gammel.

    What an outstanding experience…. precisely as announced but than even far better then expected :-). Elsa Maria gave us insights in her country, nature, history, culture in an easygoing and entertaining way, conscientiously took care of our physical well-being and provided us with coffee, tea and sweets.     My two friends and I went on the 7 hour day trip of the Faroe Islands with Elsa Maria, and we had a great time! Elsa promptly picked us up and we began the adventure. She told us many interesting legends of the islands, explained the economy and popular industries, detailed the history of the islands, and discussed topics about the tradition of whaling.     Truly amazing tour. Jens, our guide, was super friendly. He spoke perfect english and made the trip very interesting. he was telling us some interesting facts all the time and everywhere we drove by. Altough we saw a lot of places in 7 hours, it didn’t feel rushed, and we had the time we needed to see end enjoy the interesting places. He would do stops next to the road if we wanted to take pictures, he prepared us nice sandwiches made with local fish, he took photos from us… we were only 2 people on the tour so it felt really private. I would 100% recommend if you are tight on time in the faroes. I have to come back in sumer!

This tour is truly outstanding. I felt like I really did “see it all”. Elsa made this guided tour the highlight of my vacation in the Faroe Islands. She went above and beyond to ensure that I received the most complete and comfortable experience possible. Her hospitality was exceptional. I saw and took photos of the best viewpoints and little villages. I was educated on just about every aspect of Faroese history and culture. I would never have been able to duplicate the quality of this experience if I attempted this level of sightseeing on my own. I could not imagine a better, more enjoyable way to see and learn this much on any of those “big bus” tours. Highly recommended, no matter how long your visit.

    To start with the conclusion, you may worry about the amount, but I can confidently say that this tour is worth it. Elsa Maria, who guides us, not only takes ordinary tourists to places that are difficult to go easily, but also explains the Faroe Islands in an easy-to-understand way.
