See as much as possible of this undiscovered corner of the world. With an experienced tour guide with a strong passion for seaside views and waterfalls, you are in good company.

Your life-long native Faroe Islands tour guide has the local knowledge and will make sure that you get the most out of your time around the Faroe Islands. So this is what awaits you.

You will be picked up in the morning at your accommodation in Tórshavn (including the suburbs Argir and Hoyvík) on Streymoy Island.  Just let the tour guide know where you are staying once you book the tour.

Now, you will hit the road and head straight to Eysturoy Island. Your tour guide will take you along windswept mountains and all the way to the natural gorge in Gjógv, where you can enjoy the crashing waves.  The peaceful village Gjógv is waiting for you to be discovered.

Now, you will head to the tranquil hideaway Saksun. This lovely little village is tucked away in lush grass on the westside of Streymoy island. The village faces an incredible view of a hidden tidal lagoon.

You will now glide silently along the well-kept roads in the Faroe Islands and stop by the captivating Fossá Waterfall. Enjoy the power of nature for a while as you stand next to the crashing water beside this waterfall that drops in two levels.

After this experience, you will head to the remote settlement Tjørnuvík nestled in unmatched natural beauty. Travellers say this hidden valley feels like reclaiming nature.

There will be a stop at a restaurant for lunch. You can buy yourself something at the restaurant (no restaurant visit on Tuesdays).

Now you will get to the famed Vágar Island. Drive along the breathtakingly beautiful shoreline to the turf-roofed village Bøur. The view that you will encounter is otherworldly. You will have a great view of Tindhólmur islet and the famous sea arch Drangarnir.

Your final stop is the spectacular natural wonder in the small village Gásadalur. Here you will experience Múlafossur waterfall perched on the very edge and from where it plunges into the ocean. The scenery is so naturally and is the perfect place to recharge in nature.

    Excellent tour. It packs in all the highlights which is useful if your time is limited. Elsa Maria is a great tour guide and host. She kept us entertained during all the driving time with stories about the Faroese way of life so I really feel like I learned a lot and it was good fun. It goes without saying that the scenery is beautiful, even if the weather is not always cooperative.

    I had the most informative and pleasant day tour with Elsa Marie learning about the Faroe Islands, the culture, the landscape and traditions. Out photo stops were enjoyable and breathtaking- she also was the perfect host providing drinks and a few munchies when en route. We had a beautiful day driving the many islands and enjoying the picturesque views. This tour is the best and provides a good in depth view if you have limited time!

    Elsa Maria was a wonderful guide and made sure we had the best possible experience, despite the unlucky weather. She was very fun and knowledgeable about the Faroe Islands, sharing interesting anecdotes and answering the numerous questions everyone had. She also has the patience of an angel, always making sure everyone had what they needed at all time, whether it was water, proper equipment, etc. She was also very mindful about our safety during slippery walks and ensured everyone got back in one piece! I strongly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to “see it all” in a few hours. Also, for anyone staying staying multiple days, I’d recommend not booking this trip too much in advance. The weather is highly unpredictable and can of course change within the same day, but since I stayed a few days, I would have preferred to do the tour another day to have more chances to see the views and take better photos.

    This trip is like a gateway to the Faroe Islands, an introduction to the major locations. The tour guide, Elsa Maria creates a story around the tour with some personal stories and also stories about the islands. This was a chance of experiencing things in the Faroe Islands with access to local opinions. Try to book the tour between Wednesday and Sunday coz we had lunch at a beautiful restaurant which is usually closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

    I had an amazing tour with Elsa Maria. She is a fantastic guide who went out of her way to ensure that we had an enjoyable day, and provided many interesting stories and background information. She even provided us with some local goodies and snacks. Further, she used a cool app with which she recorded our travel route and she took pictures for us along the way. After the tour she sent a link where I was able to access these pictures along the route map of tour. This way I could see that we covered in total 188 km. The route is very scenic, and there are many awesome photo stops along the way. I can highly recommend this tour!

Maria responded to every question we had and also adhered to our wishes during the route.Of course, the FÄRÖER Islands fascinated us, but Marias explanations and passion for her islands made it a special event! We can only recommend such a guided tour to anyone who really wants to get to know the Faroe Islands better.     Elsa was a fantastic tour guide. She arrived to pick us up five minutes before tour start time, noted down our names and gave us a brief overview of what was happening throughout the day. It was just me and my family and we felt very fancy being driven by her. She was hilarious, engaging and she helped us do some impromptu windy photoshoots that made even the ugliest of us good haha. She shared with us her supply of whale meat and whale blubber which were very delicious and she happily let us have seconds! She supplied water, tea and coffee and made a stop for lunch too.
    While on the tour she took us to amazing spots, told us the history of the place, taught us about Faroese culture, politics and mannerisms. We had a blast with her. She felt like a friend rather than a tour guide. Elsa was amazing and we will treasure the time we had with her. Highly recommend and everyone should do this tour. You’ll be departing with such fond memories of Faroe Islands

    It’s been a while since I visited the Faroe Islands and took the tour on August 18, 2022, but as I’m making a photo book at the moment, I also wanted to take the time to review the beautiful day tour.

    As I’m looking through my photos of the gorgeous day with our knowledgeable tour guide Jens Petur, I wanted to say “Thank you” once again for this lovely day. The pick up at my hotel went smoothly and in a small bus with a few others, we started our tour in Torshavn. We truly also saw all seasons in one day. Jens showed us various places of his beautiful homeland, and told us all about them. All further questions we had have been answered right away, and I can definitely say that I learned a lot about the country, culture and its people on this day. The places we visited were stunning, and I highly recommend to take the tour and soak up all of this beautiful island. Later, Jens also send us a little presentation of our day trip, which was great to show family and friends.

    I’d been desperate to visit the Faroe Islands for some time. Took a four day trip from Scotland and based myself in Torshavn. Trying to see what one can in such a short space in time – and in winter, December – and travelling alone, I booked a tour in advance. I’d looked at previous reviews and of course looked at value for money (tight budget).
    I can honestly say if you are in any doubt which tour to take, go with this one folks! It’s really impossible to think you can drive around yourself, not knowing the best and safest routes and roads to take, places to see – in one day! A local tour guide is the best option – and this lady knew it all. Better still was the fact Elsa forwarded the entire tour highlights to me and to a fellow traveller who’d come all the way from Australia. Sometimes our camera doesn’t take the shots we thought we had – no replay like football games – or we can’t quite remember what we saw and where. This solves the problem and Elsa will load up your tour all in her own time. It was fantastic to look at my tour day when home. AND the names of all of the places visited and the route are there too.
    You cannot go wrong with Elsa Maria Baerentsen’s 7 hour “See it All” Faroe Islands Tour!
    Elsa has lived there as had her parents and grandparents and she could tell us how life was like in her own family’s past. So interesting and what hard lives people had! Elsa has great knowledge of her Islands and the tour was so comprehensive seeing mountains, rivers, fjords, places of such great interest, funny and incredible stories also. She was a very confident, careful driver on some pretty treacherous roads let me tell you. Elsa had even packed outdoor clothes, foodstuffs and hot drinks to keep us warm with local delicacies to try – if we dared. Comfortable safe transport on those snowy and icy roads, we felt at home and enjoyed our chat en route. Elsa took time to ask US about our lives too – not all just tour talk.
    I don’t know what else I can possibly add to make you decide to choose THIS trip if you have only one day to spare. It’s up to you and of course your budget.
    Spectacular scenery and spectacular guide! And no, we’re not related 🙂 No money changed hands for this review 🙂

    Sehr schöne Tour. Definitiv das Geld wert. Man verbringt an jedem Ort etwas Zeit, wenn auch nicht allzu lange. Allerdings sieht man sehr viel von der Insel und kann dann immer noch gezielt an manche Orte zurückkehren. Würde die Tour jedem empfehlen, vor allem wenn man alleine unterwegs ist.
