Fall in love with the Faroe Islands, home to astonishing natural beauty. This legendary small-group tour will let you explore the best of the Faroe Islands in one day. See as much as possible of this undiscovered corner of the world. With an experienced tour guide with a strong passion for seaside views and waterfalls, you are in good company.

Your life-long native Faroe Islands tour guide has the local knowledge and will make sure that you get the most out of your time around the Faroe Islands. So this is what awaits you.

You will be picked up in the morning at your accommodation in Tórshavn (including the suburbs Argir and Hoyvík) on Streymoy Island.  Just let the tour guide know where you are staying once you book the tour.

Now, you will hit the road and head straight to Eysturoy Island. Your tour guide will take you along windswept mountains and all the way to the natural gorge in Gjógv, where you can enjoy the crashing waves.  The peaceful village Gjógv is waiting for you to be discovered.

Now, you will head to the tranquil hideaway Saksun. This lovely little village is tucked away in lush grass on the westside of Streymoy island. The village faces an incredible view of a hidden tidal lagoon.

You will now glide silently along the well-kept roads in the Faroe Islands and stop by the captivating Fossá Waterfall. Enjoy the power of nature for a while as you stand next to the crashing water beside this waterfall that drops in two levels.

After this experience, you will head to the remote settlement Tjørnuvík nestled in unmatched natural beauty. Travellers say this hidden valley feels like reclaiming nature.

There will be a stop at a restaurant for lunch. You can buy yourself something at the restaurant (no restaurant visit on Tuesdays).

Now you will get to the famed Vágar Island. Drive along the breathtakingly beautiful shoreline to the turf-roofed village Bøur. The view that you will encounter is otherworldly. You will have a great view of Tindhólmur islet and the famous sea arch Drangarnir.

Your final stop is the spectacular natural wonder in the small village Gásadalur. Here you will experience Múlafossur waterfall perched on the very edge and from where it plunges into the ocean. The scenery is so naturally and is the perfect place to recharge in nature.

    I had a truely great and wonderful experience, we visited all the places that were listed – we had ample time to observe everything and take photos, videos. The tour was very organised and punctual. Our guide, Elsa Maria was very friendly and informative, she provided very interesting details about the landscape, the local culture, the people etc. I really appreciated that she was very thoughtful about us, the visitors – for instance we had the chance to try out a local quisine (traditional ocean food and local spirit) – I personally found it very special. All in all this was the best tour that I’ve booked recently in a long time, can warmly suggest it to all tourist who are eager to see all the ‘must see’ sights in Føroyar (Faroe Islands).

    4 seasons in 1 day or less.
    We had a perfect day with Peter, our guide who made this day exciting. Full of interesting stories about people, culture and nature, took us to most important points of interest. Whatever sun, rain, storm, hail nothing stopped him to made this tour a great experience to us. Nevertheless we were just a small group of just 5 people from different countries, made this feel private. Peter answered all our questions and let us feel very welcome. When we were not able to stop, caused by bad weather,took pictures for us to share later.
    Would recommend this tour to everyone who wants to have a good, remaining first impression.

    The Tour with Jens was worldclass. We had a little mixed group from different countries and were asked if we have to be back at 3.30 pm.
    We made multiple stops for photos and little walks, got facts about the islands all the time by Jens and got a little surprise at Fossa, but I dont want to spoiler ^^ in the end the tour took 2hrs longer than expected, but I loved every minute.
    Overall I can highly recommand the tour 🫶🏻

    This is a great tour to see the general side of the Faroe Islands, without any hiking. Elsa Maria was a great guide and accommodated to each traveler’s request. There are plenty opportunities for photos, and the beautiful places where she takes you, can never be found, if you were driving on your own. Thanks again

    This has been the best tour I have been on. Elsa was born on the Faroe Islands and she knew every inch of the country. It was almost an 8 hour tour circumnavigating many of the archipelagos. It was a small group of 8 that Elsa managed with ease. She took us to a rural cafe where we had an amazing lunch. We stopped at every photo opportunity and hopped out of the bus to take pics. Elsa offered to take pics of us. Along the way Elsa provided a running commentary highlighting the history and geography of each spot. She encouraged us all to ask her questions which we did. Sometimes Elsa would drive past the answer eg local schools and hospitals.

    You must do this tour. You will walk away with a far greater appreciation for the Faroe Islands. Many thanks Elsa. Cheers Ann

As a keen photographer, the stopping places chosen and the views seen were out of this world. The Faroe Islands is a very special place with a unique way of life and this tour has given me a deeper understanding of it. It also highlighted a way of life that we had in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland until this century. I highly recommend this tour.

    It’s been a while since I’ve done a tour like this as I usually just do things like this on my own. I really enjoyed my time on this tour. It hit the things I wanted to see on these islands and things I didn’t know about. The weather was fantastic so I was lucky that way. The group size was perfect. Small enough that people weren’t always in the way of photos and had to wait forever at every site but big enough that it was easy to keep conversations going if you wanted to. The tour guide, Elsa, was an excellent choice and being a tour guide suites her quite well. She is knowledgeable (or she is really good at making things up that are believable), she is sociable to the point where you enjoy her company but isn’t overbearing. And it she seems like the person to go the extra little bit for the tourists. All in all, 5 out of 5 for this trip.

    Elsa has the awesome skills to make the trip very pleasant, providing a lot of useful information about Faroe Islands. As she is a local guide, you have the chance to discover an entire universe on how Faroes people lived and are currently living (we found out a lot of details on the heavy periods this country passed through, personal stories lived by Elsa’s grandparents, etc).
    At the end of the tour, I was really excited with everything I have seen, learnt and gain from Elsa’s experience. She is the best 🙂

Her hospitality skills were outstanding, we were never late back on the bus, I now understand why in her teaching life the children said they looked at her and knew they would sweet!     I booked the “see it all” in a Faroe day tour, and this was such an awesome small group tour with only 8 people. From the day before while hiking at Kalsoy, another tourist told me my guide for the see-it-all tour might be “Elsa” and she was right. From the very start, Elsa Marie made us comfortable with the tour and gave us very good information about history and recent events at Faroe Islands. The restaurant she brought us to was amazing and even if I do not eat much fish, the salmon was amazingly fresh and well-prepared! Elsa Marie was also very conscientious about the environment, and was very good at reminding us not to step on the beautiful green grass. Truly an amazing day where we got to see a lot things, and Elsa Marie even sent us a video of our day a week after the tour 🙂 Highly recommended

Elsa made up for it with her enthusiasm, colourful storytelling and a genuine passion for her country.     We had an incredible time on our trip with Elsa Maria. We were a bit hesitant of a 7 hour excursion. It honestly exceeded our expectations. And after 5 days on the Faroe Islands, it was the best part of our trip. To be clear, we absolutely loved every day we spent on the islands but Elsa Maria and our small group who joined us made our full day trip incredibly memorable.     The trip is beyond expectations and imagination. Stunningly gorgeous nature landscaping, rare but cute sheep’ and horses and a total tranquil surroundings. Elsa, as our 7 hours plus tour guide plus driver, is a committed tour guide, caring person, full with passion with lots of Faroe information and funny jokes. All These plus points has compensated for the “not-too-good” weather (drizzle and cloudy) in the first 4 hours. Not to forget she carried along hot tea and coffee, candies , chocolates in the van, non stop feeding us for 7 hours.

    I truly enjoyed this tour, and the whole companionship of the other 7 friends I met on board

    Elsa Maria Bærentsen is a pretty amazing very nice guide and excellent driver! I enjoyed both the tour and the little group ( 8 people in a comfortable van) , I learnt a lot about Faroe Islands and saw wonderful landscape . During the stop we had been offered tea and coffee and something else from the van. You will stop in a nice restaurant for lunch . You will be picked up and taken back to the hotel or the house where you stay . I recommend this tour . Everybody should do it !
