Dress in a warm woollen jumper perfect for the unpredictable weather in the Faroe Islands. On this day tour to Eysturoy Island, you will visit a woollen store with great products made out of the local sheep wool.

You will be picked up in Tórshavn and then hit the road to Eysturoy Island. The first stop just after passing the lovely Lake Toftavatn will be the village Æðuvík with beautiful seaside views.

Next up is the village Toftir. In Toftir you will drop by Navia with a variety of handcrafted woollen products with a strong North Atlantic heritage. You will have the chance to do tax-free shopping in the store.

In Toftir you will see the local church. Also, you will get close to some of the only windmills in the Faroe Islands. The view from the wind turbines is great in all directions. 

Next, you will reach Norðragøta. This is an old settlement in the Faroe Islands with lots of history and culture. You will get to know some of the many stories about great Viking achievement and entrepreneurship which has always been a key virtue by the villagers. 

A large statue of Tróndur í Gøtu, a local hero from the Færeyinga Saga, stands in the village. Just beside the statue is a wooden, turf roof church. The church is part of the oldest buildings in Norðragøta where you will be treated to a tour through Faroese farm life from the mid-19th to the 20th century. In these old buildings you will see an astonishing array of traditional clothing, kitchen implements, furniture, tools, fishing equipment, and everyday artefacts.  

Now, after a visit in this old part of Norðragøta, you will visit the village Fuglafjørður before heading back to Tórshavn. Weather permitting, you will take a different route back when approaching the capital in the Faroe islands.
