Excellent halfday tour on Sandoy. If you have time left and want to see more then the highlights on Faroes Islands, then this is a great alternative. Average lesser tourists comes on this island. The small hike was definitely one of the highlights of the tour. You can choose between hike or a town visit. As we already seeing lots of towns during the tour, I prefer the hike. In the end a café restaurant stop where you can eat delicious fish and chips. Note it’s not included in the tour and you have to pay that yourself, bit that’s okay for me.

I could look around at all the sites without having to watch the road if I was self-driving. The running commentary from a true local completed the tour for me – if I did the sights myself with a self-driving tour, I would have missed out on so much valuable information to do with history, traditions and cultural aspects of the sites and villages.
Elsa and her brother are very personable tour guides without becoming overwhelming in delivering a lot of facts and stories. A good guide really makes the tour special, and I have come away with lasting good memories of Faroe.

Great day with Jens Petur who made an impressive effort to make the tour as interesting and enjoyable as possible. Sandoy was different from the more northerly islands I’d seen in that the mountain slopes were less steep and the opportunities for farming were greater. Lots of stories concerning the cultural and social history of the island and great views, especially of the surrounding islands. The whole trip was a pleasure.

We highly recommend this trip to Sandoy Island, as it gives you a comprehensive view of the island. Included was a memorable lunch in the home of a local couple with home prepared food that is typical of Faroe Islands. The Sandoy is an untouched and unspoiled island with a true Viking vibe all around. The tour of the picturesque coastal villages offered a very special counterbalance to the landscapes of the northern islands and included a unique opportunity to experience the local hospitality or the “heimablídni” over a delicious meal in a family home. This was a fantastic day tour of Sandoy. Our guide, Jens Petur, was so knowledgeable about Faroese history, culture, economics, religion, etc. and really made it all come alive as we visited ancient Viking settlements and current villages throughout the island. A highlight for our family was the heimablidni. Our hostess, Helga and her husband, warmly invited us into their home where we were treated to a delicious traditional Faroese meal.
On this tour, be prepared to see beautiful ocean vistas, sand beaches, ancient ruins and tidy villages. It is a 5+ star tour!

It was my first trip to the Faroe Islands and Elsa Maria conducted a fantastic tour of amazing locations on the islands from the rugged cliffs at Gjógv, Fossá and Múlafossur. I recently did the Faroe Islands in 7 hours See it All Tour with Elsa Maria, and can’t recommend it highly enough, especially if you have limited time to see this beautiful country. The scenery was amazing, with stunning views around every corner, and pretty little villages, birdlife, and beautiful vistas. We also enjoyed a delicious seafood lunch at a local restaurant. Being a local, Elsa Maria filled us in on what life is like in such an isolated region, and how adaptable the Faroese are, when the weather and circumstances are difficult. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this day tour, especially if you have limited time to see this amazing part of the world.

He was outstanding—professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and full of positive energy. It’s an amazing way to see almost everything in just one day, without ever feeling rushed. The pace was relaxed and enjoyable, and the small group size made a huge difference, creating a much more personal and comfortable experience.

If you only have a short amount of time in Faroe Islands and you need a comprehensive tour, then take this tour. The seven hour tour lives up to the name of the tour “see it all”. Elsa Marie was born on the Islands and seems to know nearly everybody and has the contacts to make your day memorable. She supplies coffee and surprise snacks, there is a short lunch stop and there is plenty of opportunity to stop for pictures. Elsa Marie passes on historical, geological and business perspectives and has a deep love for the preservation of wildlife and native animals. Don’t miss this engaging, extensive, wonderful seven hour tour.

I don’t usually enjoy guided tours because I prefer exploring on my own, but this was genuinely THE highlight of our family’s trip to the Faroe Islands.
The scenery was, of course, unforgettable. Seeing places like Tindhólmur, Múlafossur Waterfall, and Tjørnuvík was absolutely breathtaking. But what made this tour so special was our guide Elsa Maria. She was incredibly warm, funny, and easy to talk to, and it never felt like we were just listening to a guide recite facts. Her personal stories about growing up in the Faroe Islands and sharing the culture, traditions, and everyday life made the islands feel so much more human.
I especially appreciated how she explained topics like the Faroese hunting traditions with honesty and cultural context. It challenged some of my preconceptions and gave me a much deeper appreciation for the people and their way of life.
The pacing was excellent, especially considering how much we saw in around seven hours. The small group made everything feel personal, the vehicle was comfortable, and Elsa Maria knew all the best viewpoints and photo spots.
This tour was worth every penny. We left with incredible memories, a much deeper understanding of the Faroe Islands, and a genuine desire to come back again. I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

I did both the ‘Majestic 7 Hour Tour to the Northern Islands’ and the ‘Outstanding 7 Hour “See It All” Faroe Islands Tour’.
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved both, but my favourite was the Northern Islands tour (I preferred the pace of the tour, the landscapes and the opportunity to have fresh fish for lunch was life changing). However, I got to see PUFFINS on the ‘See It All’ tour which I LOVED🐧
My tour guide for both tours was Elsa. I cannot begin to explain how absolutely amazing she was. She was BEYOND knowledgeable but in a local way (I left the tour feeling like I knew some local secrets). She also had a great sense of humour and was extremely kind (I needed some extra bathroom stops during the first tour and she was SUPER accommodating).

This is a fantastic tour, which takes in not only the key sites we visited but passing through so many other fascinating places en-route. Peter was our guide (alongside a second group led by Elsa) he was really engaging and offered up so many interesting and lived experiences of his life in the islands. OK, you can’t really “see it all” in only one day, but you get to see a ton! Everyone says you need a car to explore the islands and while I see how it is probably easiest to have your own car, those who don’t have one can gain a lot from this one day excursion. For those who do have a car, book this early on in your trip so you can figure out where else you want to go and where you might want to return on your own. The tour guide, whose family has lived in the Faroe Islands going back many generations, was incredibly knowledgeable and is a wonderful resource. Highly recommended!

Although seeing everything is impossible no matter the country, we managed to explore Faroe Islands in a way that I completely did not expect. I booked this trip for Saksun only yet she brought us to most spectacular viewpoint of my entire six days stay, allowed us to behold unique cloud formations, kept us entertained with her energeting demeanor and engaging storytelling. Good driving, approachibility – I could ask any questions, socialize among others. Then she brought us to the restaurant which price-wise was not as insane as restaurants in Thorshavn – moreover it was spacious, amazing soup, salmon and dessert. Meeting the owner was also cool.

He was perfectly punctual at pickup and incredibly kind and engaging throughout the entire 8-hour tour. His explanations were informative yet never overwhelming—quite the opposite, actually. He shared so many interesting details that kept the tour dynamic and enjoyable from start to finish.

The trip takes in many miles but there were frequent stops where we could get out, stretch our legs and admire the scenery. We also stopped at a really nice restaurant for lunch which was in a lovely spot. Following the trip Elsa sent out a video of the route with photos from the day which was very interesting and a great souvenir of the trip.

Elsa Maria was engaging and had a great sense of humour, but her greatest quality was how well-informed she is about her country. I was so immersed in her stories. She was also very frank — she mentioned all the good, but also some parts and practices of her country that other guides might have glossed over or omitted entirely.
She also came across as genuinely kindhearted. She would help strangers along our route, help distressed animals, and visibly cringe when tourists stepped into grassy meadows — yet say nothing so as not to cause hard feelings. She was genuinely proud of the islands and everything they have achieved with such a small population.
When you’re tasked with explaining and representing your country, it has to come from a real place — and with her, it did. I appreciated her outright affection for her country even more after moving on to Iceland, where my next tour guide spent most of the time talking about himself and even insulted a country by saying it was the same as its neighbour. Every country has its own identity!

This tour is compact and well suited for travellers on a short trip to the Faroe Islands who want to cover the key highlights efficiently. The itinerary is time-effective and covers many of the main attractions with stunning scenery throughout.
However, it does not include the hike to the viewpoint of Lake Sørvágsvatn. For those specifically hoping to capture that iconic perspective, you may need to plan an additional visit separately. That said, this does not take away from the overall completeness and uniqueness of the tour.
Overall, we were able to see many major attractions, enjoy breathtaking landscapes, and make good use of time. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a well-paced and efficient introduction to the Faroe Islands.

My husband I are slow travellers, we use public transport and taxis to move from A to B. To get an overview of the highlights of the Faroer, we booked this trip, a little bit reluctantly.
We had a wonderful day. Our trip leader Elsa Maria was a teacher before she became a guide. This was of great advantage. Instead of ackwardly sitting in a small bus with 10 strangers, we became a group and we felt comfortable and chatted with each other as if we were a school class.
But the trip was not meant for socialising, but to see and learn something of the Faroer. This we did. Elsa Maria is a very skilled driver, she told us a lot about the Faroer and how it has changed over the last 50 years. She also told us about the traditions that are cherished by the Faroers.
For lunch she brought us to a lovely restaurant (price notbincluded in the trip), we could order from the menu about 1/2 hour before we got to the restaurant, therefore we didn’t have to waste time waiting for the food.
We could just enjoy, Elsa Maria was taking care of the planning, the driving and pur safety.
We had a lovely day and would recommend this trip Elsa Maria and her brother to everyone.

What!! A!! Day!!!! As a solo female traveler who doesn’t drive, I felt like this was the perfect tour for me to experience as much of the Faroe’s as possible. I had a wonderful experience on my tour. Elsa Maria was a wealth of information and anecdotes. It is always a treat to learn about a place from a local, and she has deep roots and a deep affection for her country. I initially thought I could use public transportation to see many of the sites I wished to see. This is not possible. The bus system is not for tourists, but geared for school and work hours. I was not comfortable renting a car due to the very narrow, twisty and turny roads (no shoulders and no guard rails). So I was very glad I booked this day tour to see many of the places on my wish list! We had beautiful weather, a great group of people, a comfortable van, lots of stops for photos and to stretch your legs, and we covered a vast amount of the islands. I definitely recommend this tour!

Great tour! The weather was, well, typical for the Faroe Islands but Elsa Maria’s energy made up for it. Understandably, most of the time was spent in the car, enjoying pristine nature through the window and listening to Elsa Maria’s stories. Besides quick photo stops, there were a few stops where we walked around (if I remember correctly, Gjógv, Tjørnuvík, Saksun, Gásadalur (to the waterfall) and the visit to the café for lunch). The tour finished around 15:30 in Gásadalur, meaning that, if you go back to Tórshavn with the tour group, it will be around 16:30. My favourites were Saksun and the Faroese lunch.

She shared so much interesting information about the islands, the culture, and the history, which made the experience even more special. Another thing I loved was the group size. We were only four people, which was honestly perfect — not too crowded and not too small. It created a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere while still feeling social and fun.
Be prepared because this tour is absolutely packed with activities, spectacular views, and endless photo opportunities. Around every corner there was something beautiful to see. The landscapes were stunning and constantly changing, making the entire day exciting from start to finish.
I enjoyed this tour tremendously and would recommend it to absolutely anyone visiting the islands. If you want to experience as much as possible in one day while having an amazing guide and a fantastic atmosphere, this is the perfect tour.

The Faroe Islands is truly a beautiful country. Although the weather wasn’t exactly in our favour, my guide for the tour, Elsa Maria B., made sure we still had a memorable day and an amazing overall trip.
To be honest, I didn’t expect too much from the tour at first, but it turned out to be one of the best memories from my travels. Elsa is an incredibly dedicated and passionate guide. She was always open to questions, and what surprised me most was how genuinely curious she was about her guests and where we came from.
I got to learn about the Faroe Islands from the perspective of a local, visit so many beautiful spots, stop for tea and coffee breaks, and even try Faroese akvavitt, which was absolutely amazing. In just 7 hours, I truly felt like I saw the very best of the islands, so the tour definitely lives up to its title.
I would absolutely love to visit again sometime in the future. Highly recommended!

If you have come to the Faroe Islands, you have to do the Northern Islands tour. You will get a different view. The region full of history, dramatic views, and untrammeled nature, and yet the tour is never rushed. My tour guide was Elsa and she is amazingly knowledgeable. We got to see historic ruins, houses, animals and the most beautiful northern village. I felt like she gave me a real introduction to not just the postcard version of the Faroe Islands, but to the country.

I did both the ‘Majestic 7 Hour Tour to the Northern Islands’ and the ‘Outstanding 7 Hour “See It All” Faroe Islands Tour’.
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved both, but my favourite was the Northern Islands tour (I preferred the pace of the tour, the landscapes and the opportunity to have fresh fish for lunch was life changing).
My tour guide for both tours was Elsa. I cannot begin to explain how absolutely amazing she was. She was BEYOND knowledgeable but in a local way (I left the tour feeling like I knew some local secrets). She also had a great sense of humour and was extremely kind (I needed some extra bathroom stops during the first tour and she was SUPER accommodating).

Great day around the north of Faroes, sitting in a comfy car. Tour was maintained although I was alone. I know that for larger groups they use a mini van which is equally comfortable even if you have big legs like me. The guide is friendly and will make regular stops, assist with pictures and answer all questions you may have about these beautiful islands

Wow, what a wonderful day with our delightful guide, Jens Petur. We were very lucky with the weather – the early morning rain – that looked as though it might continue all day – cleared, offering spectacular views all the way. Low cloud that sometimes blanketed the mountain tops created a wonderful effect that actually enhanced the views. And the heavy rain overnight meant we saw many spectacular waterfalls. This tour is well-planned, with timely stops for coffee, snacks, and lunch. Jens Petur went out of his way to make sure we all (small group of four) had a fabulous time.

This is by far one of the best tours I’ve done. I went with Elsa. She’s just incredible. She’s very knowledgeable about the islands. She explains things very clearly. She has the best positive energy and she will take immaculate photos for you. She picked me up on time and made sure to drop me off at the hotel as well. I truly enjoyed getting to see the northern islands with Elsa and would highly recommend this tour.

The conditions for the tour weren’t exactly ideal—thick clouds and rain. But Elsa Maria managed to keep us motivated throughout the day and showed us the incredible landscapes of the north as best as she could. I would have loved to experience the region in good weather; it would have been incredible. I hope to have better luck next time.

Despite a gloomy start in Torshavn, we were lucky with some sunny weather when we got to the northern islands, although I know Jens would have made the trip special even in the rain.

Weather was not on our side but nothing was too difficult for Elsa. She is quick, dynamic and energetic. She adjusts quickly, keeps everybody in the loop and makes the best of time. Elsa takes care and looks out for everyone. We had a 90 yr old gentleman from Utah, US and a 88 yr old lady from Norway. Nothing fazed her. Very charming and loving, stopping by to find out more about a sick horse by the road, letting me see the daily community tourists seldom witness. Very knowledgeable and she has the skills of a race car driver – fast, sharp, safe!

This was my second tour with Elsa and she did not disappoint at all. Again, I was fortunate to be the only guest for the day so it was really nice to spend the day with her. The Northern islands are really breath-taking and photos just cannot capture the beauty adequately. You need to be there to take the sights all in to appreciate the stunning landscapes. As my previous positive feedback, Elsa took a lot of photos to document the trip and share the link with me after for memories. She is always engaging, patient and very accommodating. This is a highly recommended tour.

A must tour when in Faroe either on short or long visit! Plenty of stops (coffee and sweets offered as well as some tasteful surprises plus time to enjoy a meal), lots of places to see and admire (either well known and some only local known), different kinds of weather en route but that’s the spice of it along with the excellent story narratives! Sometimes can last a little bit more than 7 hours, but it is worthwhile!

I loved this tour. The northern islands are gorgeous (and the weather the day of our tour was perfect) and our guide Jens Petur was so kind and knowledgeable. We stopped at a great spot for lunch (or cake in my case) and saw so many wonderful things. It really was such a great first full day in the Faroe Islands for me. 100% recommended!

Excelente tour
Pudimos recorrer las islas que están más al norte, bonitas vistas de acantilados y el océano atlántico, pese a que nos tocó un día con mucha lluvia, viento y neblina, pudimos ver muchos lugares. Nuestra guía, Elsa Maria, es excelente, muy buena conductora, simpática y graciosa, nos mantuvo entretenidos durante las 7 horas. El tour igual incluye almuerzo.

If you’re visiting the Faroe Islands, I highly recommend the Majestic 7-Hour Tour to the Northern Islands! Our guide, Elsa Maria, was exceptional—she was incredibly friendly, thoughtful, and attentive to every detail. She even brought extra waterproof gear, noticing my attire might not be warm enough for the changing weather, which was so thoughtful. Elsa Maria shared fascinating insights and stories throughout the tour, making each stop even more meaningful and giving us a deep appreciation of the Faroe Islands. Not only that, but she’s a talented photographer and took beautiful photos for us to keep as lasting memories.
The transportation was comfortable, cozy, spacious, and spotless, which made the journey all the more relaxing. To top it off, we were provided with coffee, tea, and snacks along the way, adding a warm, welcoming touch to the entire experience.

Majestic 7 Hour Tour to the Northern Islands

Outstanding tour! Our tour guide, Elsa Maria, provided a unique experience of 3 of the Northern most Islands: Kunoy,
Bordoy and Vidoy.
We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel which was nice, since we didn’t rent a car. The car we rode in was comfortable. Coffee, water and various snacks were provided throughout the trip. We stopped for lunch at a nice cafe in Klaksvík. Elsa Maria also took photos along the way to document the trip and sent a link with the photos after the tour. We never felt rushed and saw a variety of sites. Elsa Maria we very knowledgeable and provided a local’s insight on the different areas and on the Faroe Islands. We highly recommend this tour.
