Your life-long native Faroe Islands tour guide has the local knowledge and will make sure that you get the most out of your time around the Faroe Islands. So this is what awaits you.

You will be picked up in the morning at your accommodation in Tórshavn (including the suburbs Argir and Hoyvík) on Streymoy Island.  Just let the tour guide know where you are staying once you book the tour.

Now, you will hit the road and head straight to Eysturoy Island. Your tour guide will take you along windswept mountains and all the way to the natural gorge in Gjógv, where you can enjoy the crashing waves.  The peaceful village Gjógv is waiting for you to be discovered.

Now, you will head to the tranquil hideaway Saksun. This lovely little village is tucked away in lush grass on the westside of Streymoy island. The village faces an incredible view of a hidden tidal lagoon.

You will now glide silently along the well-kept roads in the Faroe Islands and stop by the captivating Fossá Waterfall. Enjoy the power of nature for a while as you stand next to the crashing water beside this waterfall that drops in two levels.

After this experience, you will head to the remote settlement Tjørnuvík nestled in unmatched natural beauty. Travellers say this hidden valley feels like reclaiming nature.

There will be a stop at a restaurant for lunch. You can buy yourself something at the restaurant (no restaurant visit on Tuesdays).

Now you will get to the famed Vágar Island. Drive along the breathtakingly beautiful shoreline to the turf-roofed village Bøur. The view that you will encounter is otherworldly. You will have a great view of Tindhólmur islet and the famous sea arch Drangarnir.

Your final stop is the spectacular natural wonder in the small village Gásadalur. Here you will experience Múlafossur waterfall perched on the very edge and from where it plunges into the ocean. The scenery is so naturally and is the perfect place to recharge in nature.

    We came a long way from beirut, to escape in the scenery of faroe island, and maria waa the perfect guide to that. She took us around the island and shared stories of every corner we visited, before we had traditional lunch.

    The island is a perfect place to reconnect with mother nature and what better to do so but with a local.

    Highly recomended and offcourse will revisit one day

    This tour is perfect for those who did not rent a car and want to see most of the must see villages and waterfalls. Our guide Helga Maria, a faroese guide, was extremely nice and gave a lot of information about the country and the tradition. She gave so much interest in doing such a guided tour rather than being by ourselves.

    This was a perfect tour! It covered a lot of places, some of which are quite remote and can be reached only by car. The local guide was very informative and gave us a lot of the information about the Faroe Islands, their history, population and traditions. The group was really small which contributed to a more unique experience.

    Vi så kirker, gamle landsbyer, får, kør,heste, fugle, vandfald, forstenet kæmpe og kælling og meget meget mere. Færøerne er en vulkan af oplevelser. Kan kun sige, det er ikke sidste gang jeg har været på Færøerne.

    The Faroe Islands are incredible, just like Elsa! She put a lot of effort in this tour to make this possible and incredibly worth it. You can see mostly everything within 7 hours, and she’ll make it happen. Definitely, book the tour with Elsa, you won’t regret it!!!     I had the pleasure of touring the Faroe Islands with Petir. He covered more ground than I thought was possible in a single day. He picked a couple of us up in Torshavn and off we went! You will see every area they outline and more. Petir was very knowledgeable and made for great company sharing facts and history about the Faroe Islands. He happily took pictures for both of us and stopped whenever we saw a view that was worth taking a picture of (which was basically every 100 feet lol). He recommended a great lunch location Sandavagur (Fiskastykkid) with great fish soup. This was an excellent tour and I highly recommend it to see a dozen or more highlights of the Faroe Islands.

    This is THE tour to do if you are visiting the Faroe Islands whether you are there for a couple days or a week. We were only on the Islands for 3 days and are so happy that we booked this tour because you do literally see everything. Elsa is probably the best guide I have ever come across while traveling. She’s informative, hilarious, and accommodating. She takes incredible pictures for you, feeds you snacks and ensures that you have the best possible time. I highly recommend this tour, it’s worth every penny.

    Our tour guide, Elsa Maria, provided us with a world-class tour in an eight passenger, comfortable van, of three of the Faroe Islands. She is a highly knowledgeable and excellent communicator who really cared about providing us with a first-class look at these fabulously beautiful islands. We wasted no time as she took us from site to site, clearly informing us along the way with significant insights into Faroese history, culture, economics, geology, and geography. She was invariably friendly, patient, and pleasant. She provided a Faroese picnic luncheon for us in a pleasant grove, and, a few days after the tour, emailed to us a link to the photos and videos she took along the way.     Petir is a great guide. He drove us to many spots and treated us a lovely lunch. He is very accommodating and stopped whenever we wanted to without rushing us at all. He even prepared hot tea, coffee and biscuit for us which made all the difference in the cold weather. Absolutely enjoyed the tour and will recommend it.

    You could easily spend a week exploring the Faroe Islands, but this tour does an amazing job of getting all of the highlights in one day. Our guide was funny, warm, and full of information about the islands. We even got some Faroese snacks at lunch! Everything was really smooth and I felt like every corner we turned revealed a new beautiful place. I really cannot recommend this tour enough, especially if you don’t know much about the Faroes and only have a limited time to see the sights!

    What can I say. A most unforgettable day around some of the Islands. Elsa is a very strong women and former sports teacher and even though I am 6ft 2 and 17st I quivered when instructed to follow the plan!! Seriously though, Elsa is absolutely fantastic with a hidden sense of humour and showed us a varied and spectacular overview of the Faroe Islands with drinks and snacks on the way. We were blessed with decent weather which further enhanced the gorgeous views…of which there are numerous. If you want a days snapshot of the islands then this is truly for you. I have travelled extensively but I will NEVER forget this day or Elsa for the rest of my life. An absolute must and 11/10

Elsa, our guide spoke excellent English and nothing was too much trouble for her. She wanted to share her love of the Faroe Islands and their way of life with us all and succeeded.

    It was an absolute pleasure to join Ms. Elsa Maria’s Outstanding 7 Hour “See It All” Tour. This was one of the best tours that I have ever been on. Ms. Elsa Maria is very friendly, knowledgeable, thoughtful, patient, and professional.

    First of all, Ms. Elsa Maria knows her country very well, from the current stats to the history of the islands. She is very thoughtful and patient that she will take photos along the tour, and then send a link with all the photos, location marked, afterwards. During her tour, she made frequent stops so that all guests could get off the car and take good photos. She also helps every one of us to take photos for ourselves. She is so thoughtful that she prepares snacks, coffee, tea, and samples of local food, for everyone onboard to try. Especially for samples of local food, she actually prepared those foods herself; those include lamb sandwiches, date sandwiches, whale jerky, and etc. Her thoughtfulness is also seen in her bringing blankets for guests to use at our lunch picnic. I am not a big fan of sitting on the ground, especially when it was cold out, so the blankets were definitely much appreciated! On top of all above, Ms. Elsa Maria is such a friendly person, we can frequently see her talking to people in town, and she is even friends with some chickens and geese :). I really liked the part where she called her chicken friends so that we could feed them and pet them as well. Throughout our tour, Ms. Elsa Maria shared her knowledge of the islands, as well as some anecdotes and personal experiences/stories. I am a big fan of history just as much as I am a fan of nature, so her rich knowledge of the islands is really remarkable.

    Overall, I have a 10 out of 10 experience with Ms. Elsa Maria, and I will recommend her to anyone who would like to visit and learn more about this beautiful country.

Not only was he friendly and extremely knowledgeable, he actually took the time to learn everyone’s names and made everyone feel welcome! I got to see so much of the islands during this tour.     Had a great day in the Faroe Islands with Elsa Maria. While the sights themselves are enough to make the tour quite memorable, her local knowledge, stories, and enthusiasm were also a large part of the great day.

    She was very accomodating also. We were a couple who booked the tour as part of an 8 person group. Unfortunately, we were on a cruise ship which had to leave at 4 PM in the afternoon, and Elsa Maria actually arranged for her husband to come pick us up a bit early and get us back to the cruise ship on time without the other 6 travelers having to be bound by our schedule. Truly accomodating for everyone.

    Elsa Maria picked me up along with 5 other ladies at the Hotel Brandan. She was friendly and full of energy. We had a whirlwind tour around the sights of three islands. The views were stunning and it was nice to have a day to enjoy looking around, without having to drive. Along the way, she told us about growing up in the Faroe Islands and also what life is like day to day. That really added to the special visit to the Faroe Islands. Our stop for lunch was at a great restaurant called Fiskastykkio, where I had delicious fish soup and bread. It was a wonderful day out and we saw so much! She has sent us a link to photos she took throughout our tour, and it is a great memory to have! It also reminds me just how much we visited in a short time. I would highly recommend the tour even if you have hired a car for enjoying the views and also chatting with Elsa Maria.

    Our ship happened to stop at an alternative port to Tórshavn so the guide had to travel to find us that morning, yet still picked us up on time. We traveled throughout the breathtaking Faroes in a comfortable and modern, passenger van that probably could hold 12 passengers, yet our day only had four which made it very roomy. Our guide Jens Petur was a 10th generation Faroese, maybe more, and added immensely to the experience with commentary on history, the economy, and the many sagas. It was a bit of a gloomy start but brightened up by the end of the day which totaled about 7 hours and we were back at the ship at the appointed time. The Faroes are hauntingly beautiful, especially on a misty, cold day, and we felt that the tour covered all of the assessable locations for a proper tour. Toward the end of the tour were treated to a lunch at a “local’s seafood restaurant located on a fjord eating a fish soup that were certainly swimming in the Norwegian Sea the previous day! We would highly recommend not only a stop in the Faroes, but also the guide to Faroe Islands Tour Company.

    I had a pleasure to participate recently in the “See it All” tour organized by Jens Petur on the 16/08/2022.

    I would like to leave my feedback, by saying that it was one the best tours I participated in, in my life, and it is thanks to our guide – Jens Petur.

    A few (I am not writing all of them, only the most important ones) things that made a great difference, when comparing with other tours:

    – his close and personal / individual approach to each one of us, starting with remembering our original and sometimes complicated names

    – not caring about the time – 7hrs vs 9hrs real time of the trip

    – the authentic lunch with the authentic local and tasty food, home-made.

    – and his great experience, but also the natural and very interesting way of presenting the info about the Islands.

    It is hard to find such a professionally prepared tour and a guide like Jens Petur.

    Our guide Petur was lovely and you felt the love he has for his country in the stories he told us. We saw so many places, incredible views, and because we were a small group we could talk and exchange experiences and knowledge.
    This is the perfect tour if you want to know the islands so I highly recommend it.

    I don’t often book on-and-off tours when I travel, but I’m so glad I did this tour with Elsa Maria! Elsa Maria was absolutely wonderful – charming, funny, knowledgeable, and extremely accommodating. The tour hits so many incredible places, and you get to learn so much about the culture and history as well. I added the food option, and I absolutely recommend it! It’s full of traditional Faroese food. I will never forget this experience.

    Our tour of villages and towns in the Faroe Islands was wonderful. Elsa Maria gave us something that only a native of the islands could, an insight into what life is really like there. The memories she shared and her personal family history opened our eyes to the joys and difficulties people went through.

    The things we saw were beautiful and every question was answered by Elsa Maria. It is amazing how much of the islands you can see in an eight hour tour. The tour was more than I’d hoped for.

    First Petur is a dream guide…especially when you are coming off your cruise chip and are told you cannot stay in the harbour where you told your guide you would meet him at the harbour. We had to go on the shuttle bus to the bus terminal instead. So after 15 minutes of my mother getting rather nervous about not getting picked up due to this change, Petur and I connected via the phone and we started our Faroe Island journey. Petur pointed out the sights and made sure the car was perfect in climate for us. He also took photos and emailed them to us even labeled which was fantastic. We had coffee/snack stops he brought with on the scenic byways to take in the gorgeous vistas. It was wonderfully paced. We had a charming lunch in a village. Just a beautiful day and memory of the Faroe Islands. If you only have a few days you must take this tour. ….or even if you are there for a few weeks. Enjoy being shown the Islands from a fantastic host.

    Despite the drizzle and wind, our tour was amazing! Elsa is an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic (plus a fantastic driver). My group and I were not well equipped for the weather and Elsa provided us with rain coats, which helped a ton. We also had the chance to try some authentic faroese cuisine thanks to her and it was a trully memorable experience!

    I had a great time on my “see it all tour” of the Faroe islands. Jens Petur was my guide and I loved that he was actually from the Faroe islands and lived there his entire life. The day was made great by the company and from the stories and legends that he gave to us so that this land and some of its hidden gems came to life. There was a lot of laughter, discussions, and beautiful landscapes. I would highly recommend for anyone to take this tour.

Jens Petur described the history, culture and many aspects of Faroe Island life enhancing the dialogue with personal anecdotes. He provided a fantastic lunch featuring local ingredients and even took a gret series of photos and videos for the group. I can highly recommend this trip!
