See as much as possible of this undiscovered corner of the world. With an experienced tour guide with a strong passion for seaside views and waterfalls, you are in good company.

Your life-long native Faroe Islands tour guide has the local knowledge and will make sure that you get the most out of your time around the Faroe Islands. So this is what awaits you.

You will be picked up in the morning at your accommodation in Tórshavn (including the suburbs Argir and Hoyvík) on Streymoy Island.  Just let the tour guide know where you are staying once you book the tour.

Now, you will hit the road and head straight to Eysturoy Island. Your tour guide will take you along windswept mountains and all the way to the natural gorge in Gjógv, where you can enjoy the crashing waves.  The peaceful village Gjógv is waiting for you to be discovered.

Now, you will head to the tranquil hideaway Saksun. This lovely little village is tucked away in lush grass on the westside of Streymoy island. The village faces an incredible view of a hidden tidal lagoon.

You will now glide silently along the well-kept roads in the Faroe Islands and stop by the captivating Fossá Waterfall. Enjoy the power of nature for a while as you stand next to the crashing water beside this waterfall that drops in two levels.

After this experience, you will head to the remote settlement Tjørnuvík nestled in unmatched natural beauty. Travellers say this hidden valley feels like reclaiming nature.

There will be a stop at a restaurant for lunch. You can buy yourself something at the restaurant (no restaurant visit on Tuesdays).

Now you will get to the famed Vágar Island. Drive along the breathtakingly beautiful shoreline to the turf-roofed village Bøur. The view that you will encounter is otherworldly. You will have a great view of Tindhólmur islet and the famous sea arch Drangarnir.

Your final stop is the spectacular natural wonder in the small village Gásadalur. Here you will experience Múlafossur waterfall perched on the very edge and from where it plunges into the ocean. The scenery is so naturally and is the perfect place to recharge in nature.

    Elsa is really a special person. With her we got to feel and learn about Faroese language, culture, food and wonderful panoramas. She’s very talkative and attentive to the well-being of those who are travelling with her. This is a trip you cannot miss, you see a lot of what the islands can offer in one full day. The day was sunny and it helped a lot. The price is high as anything else in the Faroe, but it was worth it.

    This was a wonderful tour and Elsa Maria is an outstanding guide. We managed to see a lot of places in a single day, but it never seemed rushed. As we’s been warned, the weather is always unpredictable and when we arrived at an overlook that was completely fogged in, Elsa Maria was prepared and pulled out pictures of what it would look like without fog. She also emailed us pictures taken at the places we visited and pictures at the same places in perfect weather. Throughout the tour, she shared her knowledge of the history and culture of the Faroese people and shared personal stories about growing up and living in the Faroe Islands. I came away from the tour knowing much more about both the land and the people. There’s so much to see in the Faroe Islands, that one day just scratches the surface. However, I think this is as good a start as you could possibly do in one day.

    Hi . So lucky to choose this tour and guide Elsa Maria. The tour shows you all the main highlights of this beautiful and scenic group of islands in a comfortable , intimate group. We had only 7. The weather was magnificent and Elsa Maria was passionate , knowledgeable and knew all the best places for a shot or a beautiful fish restaurant for lunch. I highly recommend doing this if you are short on time and or as an introduction to the island if you are driving around . Elsa Maria gave some of our group excellent tips for their driving tour and she is a fantastic photographer capturing everyone’s shots of the day ! Thank you for a great day and explaining the culture history and true facts behind the Faroese way of life.

    We had a wonderful tour around the Faroe Islands with Elsa Maria last week.
    We were 6 people in our group which was a very good size for an intimate guided tour.
    Our guide was a Faroe native with a strong passion for her country.
    The tour is quite expensive, but most things are on the Faroe Islands and I think we got good value for our money.
    Getting to try local food was an extra special treat on tour and very much appreciated.
    I would definitely recommend doing this tour at the beginning of your stay to get a good overview of the the area and a bit of a historical background.

    We took this tour on our first day and it was the best decision ever! Even though the weather on the first half of the trip wasnt that good, our tour guide was amazing, she was well prepared with photos of all the places and all information. We learned a lot and we really did see nearly everything. I’d recommend to hit your holiday on the Faroes off with this specific tour as you have the opportunity to see everything and get to know everything and then you are allowed to choose what would you like to see again

    Elsa Maria was an absolute star! From the minute I got in the van til the time we said goodbye, she entertained us with great humour, fun facts, her generous nature, bubbly personality and was extremely thoughtful, especially when there were 2 passengers who had motion sickness. I would never have been able to see what we did any other way, so I’m very happy that I booked this tour. She even had local food and drink for us to try. She thought of everything! Even though it was a massive day with lots of stops, I never felt rushed or hurried along. I recommend you book this tour and see it all!

    This was an amazing tour with our guide Peter! We saw quaint villages, waterfalls, puffins, many sheep, farms, beaches, lakes, and the tunnel roundabout!! A wonderful lunch at a local restaurant was most enjoyable as well! Peter told personal stories of growing up and living on the Faroe Islands. He readily answered questions and even though we saw many sights, we never felt rushed! Highly recommend this tour!!

    I was in January in Torshavn and took this fantastic tour. You see all the really beautiful places the islands have to offer. It was very relaxing to sit back and Elsa Maria did the driving.     Perfect tour even if we where always pushed from our guide but no other chance : to see a maximum – you have to hurry up, 250 km in 7 hours. The guide was a very good and experienced driver, she gave a maximum of useful and insider information, served tea, coffee, water, sweets.
    I highly recommend this tour even though the price is quite high. But, in total, it’s worth spending this money.

    Our island hopping tour with Elsa Marie was wonderful! Not only was she super interesting, but she made our tour interactive and fun! We got to hear so much about the history, people, and culture of the Faroe Islands – and she also helped take amazing photos of us along the way. She took command of the tour – making sure we fit so much of the islands in, in a very short timeframe. Left to our own devices we would have missed so much beauty and history. I am usually not a fan of a group tour, but the day flew by and we had tons of fun.     When Elsa picked me up at 8:30 AM in Torshavn, I honestly had low expectations for the day because the weather was terrible. But once we drove out of the city, the weather miraculously transformed into a beautiful sunny day and the possibilities for an amazing tour became possible. Elsa was extremely informative the entire day, she took us to places that I never would’ve been able to explore on my own, and shared a ton of information about the Faroese culture. It was the best possible way to learn about the Faroe Islands and I would strongly recommend her tour as an introductory tour to the islands and to the culture. A++.

    During our visit to the Faroe Islands we spent a day doing the ‘see it all’ trip with Elsa Maria Baerentsen. It was such an amazing day; Elsa drove us round the islands in her lovely minibus and showed us all the beautiful scenery, stopping at lots of wonderful places and sharing her knowledge of the history of the Faroes and the people. The minibus was very comfortable and there were drinks and snacks on board. The trip was supposed to be for 7 hours but it actually lasted 9 hours as she wanted us to see everything and was very informative. She is very cheerful and the whole day was very enjoyable

    We took the 7-Hour, See it All, on our first day in the Faroes. Our guide was Elsa Maria Baerentsen, and she took about 8 hours to show us literally every corner, nook, village, waterfall, beach, etc. on the Faroes. My wife and I have traveled to every country in Latin America and Europe; we speak between us four languages, and I am an ex-Diplomat and World Bank economist. But we have never been on such a delightful, informative tour! Ms. Baerentsen is a TREASURE of the Faroes. Energetic, attentive, knowledgeable, and very person-oriented. And the driving speed and skills of a Juan Fangio! This is a tour–and do try to get Else Maria as your guide–not to be missed; after you complete it, you can then concentrate on the delightful food, drinks, and any specific site you want to revisit. But you sure will lean a heck of a lot about the Faores!

    This tour is amazing, Elsa the guide (a local Faroese) knows what to show you and where to take you, so you get to see as much as possible. She puts so much effort in it, she wants everone to have a good day. During the trip she takes photos which she makes into a video and send to your email. She took us to a place where we got really close to the puffins, that was the highlight for me. During the day she feeds you snacks and coffee/tea. She also offered Faroese specialties to the brave. All in all a wonderful day.

    Fantastic! This really was a good and informative trip! Our guide Elsa Maria went above and beyond to make sure our small group of 8 were all comfortable with each other and allowed plenty of breaks with many fabulous views. Elsa Maria kept us entertained with facts and anecdotes about the islands and life in the Faroes, answering any questions with a smile too. She also provided us with snacks and for anyone interested, some local Faroese tastes. Lunch was at a very nice village cafe (at our own expense) with tasty food and local vibe. On this tour, you really do see it all and as a memento Elsa Maria has sent us a link with photos from the day.
    Definitely to be recommended!

    During this incredible tour, you are able to see most of the important spots from some of the Islands; furthermore, while you visit them, Elsa Maria is going to tell you all about the culture, history, food, etc. from Faroe Islands.
    Apart from that, we wanted to highlight that the airline lost our luggage, and we had no warm clothes to wear; Elsa Maria offered us some of her clothes, and she told us that we could ask her for anything we needed while we waited for our luggage to arrive.

    The Faroe islands is a very special place. My wife Jane and I have travelled very widely and there are a few places we have been that I treasure. This will be one of them. I knew about the Faroes from their interesting history but the raw natural beauty of the place far exceeds the photographs. Elsa was a gracious and knowledgeable host and treated us like family. She took us to see much of the main island. I only had a day and a half as part of a business trip but will be back. Many breathtaking hikes and unlike much of Iceland, there is lots of fresh water and places to camp without being on rock. Also many excellent roads to ride. There is apparently a Faroes marathon and it would be a perfect site for an Ironman. Whatever, you love and are able to do, this is a set of islands of unrivalled beauty that the Faroese have managed so far to keep unspoiled. Take the tour, it is worth it and you will have one of the best days of your life. Torshavn has excellent coffee houses and cafes, and while small, is fun to tour. Beauty, great people, as much exercise as you want, a chance to relax, and excellent coffee and beer- almost heaven.

    I really recommend this tour if you don’t have a car to move or just want to relax and enjoy your day around the west part of the Faroe Islands. Elsa Maria, our tour guide, is simply adorable, friendly and humorous. She knows every angle of these beautiful country and the history. She joined us to take photos and she was kind to offer us some food samples and Faroese aquavit and some regular stuff as coffee, tea, water and some chocolate sticks. Unfortunately the weather in the Faroes is really unpredictable, so in some cases we couldn’t see some landscapes that are supposed to be fascinating, but Elsa was ready to show us some pictures how they should have been.

    If ever there was an apt name for a tour, this would be it! What a spectacular day! Elsa is a professional, humorous, knowledgeable and passionate guide who shared so much Faroese history, culture and even personal stories which really made the trip something special. I have no idea how she managed to navigate the petrifyingly tiny and steep roads through the fog with such finesse! Despite fog setting in in several locations, we saw some spectacular sights (and tbh I really loved the way the fog danced around the landscape). We even got to see puffins! Thank you Elsa for such a magnificent day. If you are going to book one trip in the Faroe Islands – make it this one!!
