    The walkingtour with Jens around Tórshavn was a good experience. For me it was at a suitable length and Jens knows a lot about your lovely city. There was plenty of time to ask questions and to hear little anecdotes about some of the people who lived here.
    I can recommend the tour to anyone who wants to know about the city they have come to.

    Jens was an great guide. He has a rich knowledge of Faroese history and he’s very good at sharing it. He answered all my questions and explained some building names in Faroese. Because I was the only person on tour, he even asked if I prefer to start at a different time to catch better weather. I highly recommend this tour!

    Jens was incredibly informative, highlighted interesting historical, cultural, political, and economic aspects of life in the Faroe Islands, and sprinkled his tour narrative with equally interesting recollections of growing up in the Faroes. He answered all of our questions thoughtfully and sought to make connections with our home countries.

    Jens is relatively new in his career as a tour guide but shows much promise. Thank you Jens for an entertaining and informative walking tour.

    I was SO happy when I learned that Jens Hákun Leo would be my guide on this walking tour in Tórshavn. I had been on his Faroese Beer Tour hike and knew that he was an extremely knowledgeable guide and very, very nice guy. He is flexible, and although he tells about places and stories along the route of beautiful, old Tórshavn, he will also answer questions that is of your own particular interest. Highly recommended tour!

    I participated in this walking tour on the afternoon I arrived in Tórshavn, and it was the perfect start to my mini-adventure in the Faroe Islands.

    Jens was friendly and knowledgeable, sharing stories about the local architecture, landscapes, histories and politics, as we meandered at a comfortable pace through the historical parts of town.

    Getting insights about a place and its culture from a local always adds a layer of depth, and I would highly recommend this tour as a first touch-point to anyone visiting the islands.

    My friend and I were disappointed with our Torshavn Walking Tour. The guide knew the history as if it came out of a book, but he did not add any experience or local knowledge to the tour. He did not seem engaged in the experience of being a tour guide and went through the motions of the tour but seemed disinterested. Thank goodness another lady visitor on the tour was able to answer our questions about local Faroese curiosities. Disappointing, as I’ve taken many city tours in my travels and they are usually excellent.

    This is a great intro tour to Torshavn, for those who don’t know anything about the city. Jens is a great guide, showed me the famous landmarks, great photo ops, and also where to eat and shop. Without him, I would have a harder time navigating the city.

    Jens is an experienced guide and has a very deep knowledge of Tórshavn and the Faroese history. We had a really nice walk to all important places of political, cultural and historic interest and there was always plenty of room for questions. I even learned about Faroese Saga and got a little introduction in the faroese language. 🙂 Jens is a friendly and attentive guy, he also asked if I prefer to start the tour a bit earlier as daylight is shorter in October on the Faroe Islands. I would highly recommend him as a tour guide if you visit Tórshavn!

    Jens is a great guide to know the city of Torshavn, a real feroes guy that knows all the geopolitical characteristics of the country as well as the history and arquitecture.
    I did this tour on my first day on the Feroe Island and I think it’s perfect for you to make yourself an image of the country you’re in.
    Jens aswered great to all my questions and we had a real good conversation along the way.

    We were unable to get to our original walking tour time and Jens very generously met us at another time and gave us a wonderful walking tour of Torshavn. He was very knowledgeable and very nice and we really enjoyed the tour and meeting Jens. We would definitely recommend this tour to everyone visiting the Faroe islands .

    I can’t say enough good things about this tour. We took it on the first full day of our week tour of the Faroe Islands. Jens covered topics like: History, Current Events and Political issues in the country, in between pointing out and discussing building, etc.

    During the rest of the week, we kept bringing up facts Jens informed us about. It enriched the rest of our stay in the Faroe Islands.

    Vi blev taget pænt imod på det aftalte tidspunkt og det aftalte sted.

    Vi havde en fantastisk tur rundt i Torshavn og blev meget klogere på samfundsforhold, historie og en masse fine anekdoter om stort og småt. Jens gjorde det virkeligt godt og kunne svare på alle spørgsmål.

    What an amazing tour! Jens was so informative and friendly. He really took the time to answer our questions and did his best to cater to what interested us. (We were lucky enough to come towards the end of the tourist season and got a private tour with Jens). We were fascinated by the Faroese language and the Viking history, so Jens even taught us a few Faroese words! We could not have been happier with this tour. A great way to see some historical parts of Torshavn and learn from a local.

    I recommend a city tour with Jens Hakun Leo. Even though I was staying in the city center, I did not realize all the historic areas that were within walking distance. I enjoyed hearing the history and background and evolution of the Faroese people, their politics and language. I also took the opportunity to ask a lot of questions about how people live today and how their parents and grandparents lived. It is so much more interesting when you hear personal stories.

    We very much enjoyed our walking tour of Tórshavn. Jens expertly guided us through the old part of the city and showed us some things we never would have noticed on our own. We learned about the history of the Faroe Islands and the connections to Denmark (where we live). Jens was knowledgeable and spoke great English so that we could understand everything he was saying. Despite the rainy weather, it was a nice way to see Tórshavn. It was a bonus that we finished our tour right as culture night was beginning and we got to stick around and experience the local culture further.

    We can’t wait to return to the Faroe Islands and experience more of the natural beauty of the area!

    I just wanted to leave a short review on the guided hike my mum and I had with Jens after booking through your site.

    Before the hike Jens had already emailed a good, detailed itinerary so we knew where to be and when. The route was well marked and Jens was happy to give us plenty of information when we asked for it as well as the great talk that he gave as we were walking. Whilst the route is well marked with cairns and posts, having Jens along made the experience so much better as he was able to give us local insight into the route and area. The bonus of having Faroese beer along the way was also very worthwhile. Thank you, Jens and we would recommend to anyone.

    The tour was amazing! Even though we went up the hill in cloudy conditions and didn’t see much, Jens was very entertaining and knowledgeable about all the things we asked about. We gained a great insight in Faroese culture while enjoying some nice local beers and some rather windy conditions.
    The hike lasted around 2,5 hours as we didn’t stop a lot to take the view in. It is not a difficult climb – the first 20-30 minutes is uphill which can be daunting but it is not bad at all; and the last 15 minutes you have to be careful on the rocks – thus good hiking shoes are highly recommended!
    The tour was amazing and it is very recommend for beginner hikers and people who would like to take the view in (if the weather allows).

    The tour was good. Even if it was a bad weather and I was alone to book this tour, the guide (Jens) came. He was really nice and explain a lot of things about Faroe. And of course, the beer was nice too.

    A great idea to mix a hike with beer!!! I was the only customer for the very amiable Jens and I feared I would bore him to tears!! Luckily Jens is such a nice guy he put up with me for 4hrs. In essence the first 30 mins are uphill and the last 30 mins downhill and maybe just have to watch your step a little after the 3 strong beers kick in. We were lucky with the weather however and it proved to be a smashing day from start to finish. Drinking, talking football, which is a religion to this Burnley FC fan, and general chit chat made for a good afternoon. Try it people, it’s something different! Only negative is that Jens likes Man Utd 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️Dear, oh dear😂😂

    Jens is a great guide and really interesting to talk to. Loved the pairing of the hike with beer! Great Faroese beer as well :). Highly recommend this tour!!

    I would strongly advice visitors to the Faroe Islands to do this hike from the outskirts from Tórshavn to the old King’s Farm named Kirkjubøur. Jens Hákun Leo is a fantastic knowledgeable and kind guide and he patiently answered all my questions. He will take you for a hike along the old route marked with cairns over the mountains. This is really the way to arrive at and experience Kirkubø! We stopped a couple of times for a beer and a snack which Jens carried with him. He also has other choices of drink, like coffe etc. The hike is not very hard, if you are reasonably fit.

    I had a great tour with Jens in august. He is a very friendly guide and he knew a lot of facts and history and was able to answer all of my questions. He brought good beer and some sweet snacks too. The hike wasn’t that challenging and would be good for beginners. You get great views and you get to see the beautiful and historical village at the end.

    We had booked the hiking tour to Kirkjubøur with Jens during our honeymoon in mid September.

    The tour was a great experience. After a short free bus ride, there is a climb of about twenty minutes. After this you have a great view of Torshavn and the neighboring islands. Jens brought two beers each, which we in this cozy round.

    After the two beers we walked comfortably to the small village Kirkjubøur. Afterwards by bus back to Torshavn.

    Jens has a great knowledge about the Faroe Islands and we made many new experiences about life here. Likewise, we have received more valuable tips for the remaining days of the vacation.

    I can only recommend the tour.

    Excellent tour! Great talk and tasty refreshing beer. Nice to get an inside view of the town from a real Islander in addition to glorious scenery. The walk was not too tough but not for sissies either. It ends in a village with two amazing old churches. Bonus sightseeing!

    This hike from the city limit of Torshavn to Kirkjubøur with Jens was so lovely. Jens is a great guide who knows much about the islands and seems happy to share his passion for the land with others. The beers we tasted during the hike were delicious (particularly the Black Sheep) and the accompanying local pastries were very pleasant. Noteworthy moments were standing where the Løgting historically used to take place, and the view of Kirkjubøur appearing behind the mountain on the way down. The hike finishes on a great note by visiting the small village of Kirkjubøur which is so rich in history.

    Great hike, some climbing up the hill but not very difficult, great views, also on surrounding islands, even if there was a little bit of fog. Beautiful small village with a church at the end of the hike. The bus, that was supposed to take us back to Tórshavn, left 15 minutes sooner, fortunately Jens came up quickly with a solution. Jens shared a lot of information about Faroe Islands and I tasted nice beer and a sweet treat. Highly recommended for a pleasant afternoon!

    Beautiful hike tour with a excellent guide I follow for a while on Instagram. It don’t happened often doing a tour with someone you follow and the same goes for him 😉 A beautiful hike outside Tórshavn in a not busy area. If you wanna see more of Tórshavn or better say whole Tórshavn from far away then this gives you the perfect opportunity. The guide gives a lot of information, photo stops and even a snack or tea/coffee if you don’t like beer. Also the bus ride to the area and back in the local bus is fun. You see a part of the town you otherwise don’t see.

    Outstanding tour with Jens. The hike was better than I expected. Jens was very knowledgeable about Faroese culture and history, and I learned a lot from him. Had the opportunity to sample a couple of local beers along the hike and just soak in the amazing views. Our hike ended in a little historic village dating back to 1000 AD – so interesting. Highly recommend this tour!

    Really enjoyed this walk, despite the winds.
    Jens met us on schedule at the bus station and we took the red bus to the starting point. The walk was initially up a gentle hill over rugged ground so be sure to wear appropriate footwear! The pace was easy but steady as Jens told us all about the history of the Faroes and their current politics. It was great to get a feeling for the place.
    En route we stopped for a few minutes to have our beers. The seasonal special Flagg was my favourite, but the Black Sheep was also drinkable.The stops were short to avoid the wind. The view as we approached our fest was awesome, particularly as the sun came out.

    Fantastisk og smuk vandretur til Kirkjubøur. Jeg mødtes med min helt personlige guide Jens, færing og min livline i ca. 2,5 time 😅
    Vi tog bybussen ud til bygrænsen og så gik det ellers i rask trav . Nok også lige et lidt hurtigt tempo, for en 68 årige 1. gangs vandrer, skønt jeg er i god form. Terrænet er ujævnt og meget stenet, så jeg var meget glad for mine vandrestave.
    Jens derimod gik som en bjergged, helt afslappet og sikker i hvert et skridt 😅
    Jens er en vidende mand og fortalte inspirerende om både Færøernes historie, kultur, området og livet i nutiden.
    Vejret var perfekt og udsigten storslået.
    Nåede Kirkjubøur og hoppede på bussen hjem, da jeg sidste år havde besøgt bygden.
    Kan kun anbefale den fremragende vandretur til Kirkjubøur med den sympatiske Jens, men hvis turen skal nydes 100 %, så sæt farten lidt ned, specielt for os lidt ældre 1. gangs vandre ☺️
