Skálavík is a settlement at the end of a long grass valley on Sandoy Island in the awe-inspiring Faroe Islands. In order to get to Skálavík, you will drive for fifteen minutes from the nearby village Sandur.

Skálavík is a haven for those looking for an off the beaten path settlement in the Faroe Islands. The place is sparsely populated and few travellers find their way to the attraction. Skálavík is one out of only six settlements on Sandoy Island.

Getting to Skálavík from Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands, takes 45 minutes or so by car. Thanks to a 10.8 km (6.7 mi) underwater tunnel linking Streymoy Island to Sandoy Island, you can drive all the way to all populated places on Sandoy Island.
