​Mykineshólmur Islet is the most westerly piece of land in the wild Faroe Islands. The islet is home to a lighthouse overlooking the North Atlantic Ocean. A bridge connects the islet Mykineshólmur with the the bigger Mykines Island.

A canyon, named Hólmagjógv, separates the islet from Mykines Island. A bridge links the islet to the island.

Mykineshólmur is the westernmost part of the Faroe Islands. The islet rises 133 metres (436 feet) from the sea.

The islet is uninhabited. Nevertheless, the place brims with life. Birds find their way to this outpost especially during the summer months from May throughout August.

Puffins are a real treat for travellers visiting during the bright summer months. These charming seabirds, with their colourful beaks and playful behaviour, nest on the islet’s grassy cliffs.

During this time, puffins can be seen flying to and from the sea, bringing small fish to their burrow nests hidden in the green hillsides.
