Sørvágsfjørður Fjord Travel Guide
Sørvágsfjørður is a fjord on Vágar island in the Faroe Islands. The Sørvágsfjørður fjord is named after the village Sørvágur, which sits at the bottom of the fjord.
Boats to Mykines island depart from the Sørvágur marina. You will also reach the sea arch Drangarnir when sailing along Sørvágsfjørður. At the end of the fjord lies the impressive islet Tindhólmur.
Flights to the Faroe Islands descend along Sørvágsfjørður as the only airport in the Faroe Islands. Vágar Airport is located next to the fjord. Air traffic to the Faroe Islands also arrives from the opposite side of the runway where Lake Leitisvatn sits.
The lovely village of Bøur is also located along the fjord. You will reach the settlement when heading towards the village Gásadalur home to the famous Múlafossur Waterfall.
