Geituskorardrangur is a free-standing rock wall on Vágar Island in the far-flung Faroe Islands. This rock formation towers 116 metres (380 feet) above sea level. Reach the attraction after walking for one one.

You will get the best view of this free standing sea-stack just beside Bøsdalafossur waterfall. In order to reach Geituskorardrangur, you will walk for one hour along Lake Leitisvatn.

The walk to Geituskorardrangur starts from a trailhead just outside the village Miðvágur. The walk is easy with almost no elevation.

There are great opportunities to sit down on the rocky ground and simply enjoy the sight. Expect to see lots of birds flying above your head and also underneath you. Once you get to the coast, marvel at the marine wildlife.

You will have a blast watching the sea stretching endlessly across the horizon. When the wind is howling, everything gets more moody. You will hear the waves roaring when crashing agains the black basalt.

Most days will come with wind making layers and a windproof jacket a must. Hiking boots are also recommended for the walk from Miðvágur to Geituskorardrangur.
