Bøsdalafossur Waterfall runs from Lake Leitisvatn into the North Atlantic Ocean from 30 metres (98 feet) above sea level. The waterfall is situated on the western coast of Vagar Island in the wind-swept Faroe Islands.

In order to reach Bøsdalafossur, you will walk 3 kilometres (1.8 miles) from near the village Miðvágur. There is no elevation along the route. You will walk between 30-40 metres (98-131 feet) above sea level all they way to Bøsdalafossur.

The water in the river that turns into the waterfall comes from Lake Leitisvatn also known as the floating lake. Lake Leitisvatn is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Faroe Islands.

This lake is perched atop the basalt cliff and then forms into Bøsdalafossur waterfall that drops straight into the chilly North Atlantic Ocean. Standing next the crashing water is a forceful experience. You will have noting but the rugged coastline in front of you and mighty views.

Bøsdalafossur lies on the same island as where you will find Vagar Airport.
